After realising some goals and such and from flicking through a nice little phrasebook, I realised that learning another language would be good for me. The language I have chosen is Japanese. I have a feeling that this can be quite a common language to want to learn, and so I hope that this thread is of use to anyone who needs to learn this beautiful language.

I'm typing up these phrases as a kind of 'learning aid', as I realised that typing things up and repeating them helps me to learn. For instance: I was messing around and continuously typing up: 'Kankiri ga hitsuyo des' (I need a can opener) to a few friends of mine and confusing them quite a bit in the process, but I found that it really helped me. Here's a little tip: with subjects like languages, repetition is a good skill for drumming information into your mind.
