What would you guys think of a Battlebot style arena in Durem? You could buy a basic body (say, wheeled, tracked, or hover), and then equip it with whatever weapons you want to buy for it. There could be several different body styles in each category, each with it's own strengths and weaknesses, and using the customizability already used for our little people you could totally customize your machine. Each body type could have thousands of combinations of color/weapons/patterns/whatever.
Then you could pit your design against others in the arena. Anything from 1 on 1 to multi-player free for alls. Maybe even a buy in so the winner gets the prize. Of course, there would have to be a rating system of some sort to score each persons machine on a chart to keep fights "even".
Then, just to make sure people are careful with challenges, have repairs actually cost to be done. That way a person could concede a fight rather than have his machine demolished...
