"Greetings, esteemed Gaia contributor!" - Survey

A few days ago, I got an e-mail from Gaia asking me, "esteemed Gaia contributor", to fill out a survey.

Most of the questions were about my general use of the site (what I did, in what part of the site, how many hours a week, what my favourite items were, that sort of thing) and the survey was kind of hilariously named "Lapsed Top Spender Survey".

Basically, I used to spend a lot of money on Gaia Cash, and I don't anymore, so they wanted to know why.

In return for my answers, I got some coupons for Gaia Cash (hah), and an item "only available from this nifty offer!". All in all, five minutes well-spent.

- Did any of you get this e-mail?
- Did it make you wonder how much you spent on GC for them to consider you a "top spender"?
- How happy are you with the fact exclusive items are being given to only a very small part of the userbase?
- Would you mind completing this kind of survey once a month/year/whatever in exchange for exclusives/coupons?


Disclaimer: I didn't post the contents of the e-mail or the survey because I don't want to get in trouble for it. They were all pretty innocent questions but I don't want to risk it.

I have a good idea of how much I have spent over the years and don't like to think about it. I regret my actions at this time.

I'm not happy at all with anything that discriminates/alienates the majority of the userbase.

I'm surprised I haven't gotten that email--maybe because I haven't spent considerably less money on GC lately? On the other hand, there's something incredibly comforting about not being considered a top spender.

Well, anyway. I'd be totally fine with doing a survey now and then for exclusives. I like stuff.

I do sort of wonder what they consider a 'top' spender. I mean, I've put a significant, er, investment rofl into this site but I'm sure that I'm still small potatoes compared to richer users. So that could be another reason I'm not getting that survey, haha.

One thing that did just occur to me is I thought it'd be funny if you had dedicated account managers for people who spent a certain amount within the span of a year...kinda like in the casinos. With all the RIGs, it's like gambling anyway, isn't it?

I never got that cause I don't spend money on GCash. I don't have a problem with them giving exclusive items to top spenders because those people spend real money on the company, so they should be rewarded I guess. I don't mind completing surveys once they're not painstakingly long.

IDK if farmed gc (from vids and surveys) count, maybe I spent more than 2k GC on this account alone via that.
