[Vespertine Vagabond]

The Four Paws Hotel and Café is a well-known establishment situated on the outskirts of a large neighborhood
(lovingly dubbed “Mew York” by the locals) within the center of the city.
Much like Chinatown became a place predominantly populated by Asian-Americans,
Mew York became the center for neko families and businesses to thrive.
For a few decades now, nekos have lived peacefully among humans.
Initially there were tensions between the two groups when nekos first made their presence known in society,
but negotiations, laws, and acceptance spread over time.
(After all, who couldn’t learn to accept people with such adorable fluffy ears and tails?)
Nowadays, it’s not even uncommon to see human and neko couples hand in hand.

Fours Paws was an establishment originally created to give nekos a place to work and stay
when nowhere else would accept them. Since things have progressed so much for nekos,
it no longer has to take in quite so many strays (though they still will!), but it remains a place where only nekos can work.
In fact, it has become a place where more and more humans visit
just so that they can enjoy the company and service of these adorable feline workers!
(Some nekos protest that the humans are just fetishizing them, but to each their own, amirite?)
With its new spike in popularity, Four Paws has seen the best business it ever has in its long history.

As you approach the establishment and its double glass doors, taking a moment to relish in the shade
provided by the canopy overhanging the entrance and also noting the neatly trimmed shrubbery
to either side of the doors, you find yourself intrigued by a faint but intoxicating aroma.
As you make your way inside, the scent becomes stronger, and you instantly recognize in the smells
nostalgic scenes of breakfasts made by grandmas and brunches eaten at fancy cafés
and every other delicious memory you can conjure.
You walk forward down an aisle, a few lounge chairs and tables at either side for patrons to rest at,
and find yourself facing a large counter.
Behind it stands two nekos, greeting you with a smile.
They are receptionists, meant to handle customers wishing to have a stay at the hotel as well as deal with any luggage.
To your right, you can see a short hallway with elevators leading up to the higher levels
as well as the rather grand staircase leading up to the second floor.

Looking to your left, you notice a sign with an arrow and “Café” transcribed above it.
You follow the aisle this way and soon find yourself greeted by a host standing behind a podium,
prepared to seat or make reservations for anyone wishing to be served at the café.
The neko informs you that customers are also welcome to head directly to the register
if they only wish to order something from the display or get a drink from the barista station to go.
You decide to be seated, and the neko leads you into the café where various booths and tables are arranged.
Breakfast is currently being served, but there are always desserts and other treats available from the glass displays.
Uniformed maids and waiters glide about, chatting with the patrons and always serving with a smile.
The place overall has an air of warmth, elegance, and an overlying layer of cuteness to top things off.
The expense to stay is worth it for the impeccable service and relaxation one receives in return.

◆ Be kind and inclusive to all role players.
◇ Please participate in the OOC thread to get to know and plot with your fellow role players.
◆ Do not move/control another person’s character without their permission.
◇ If I think of any additional rules, I will add them in a different color.


Characters

◆ Male and female characters are accepted, but workers can only be nekos and customers I would prefer to only be human (to maintain a balance).
◇ Keep them fun, interesting, and original!
◆ I would like you to use anime pictures for your characters.
◇ To start out, people will be limited to 3 characters each. (If people are very active and really want additional characters, I may permit them to have more.)


Posting

◆ Please try to be as active as possible. At least one post a week per character.
◇ Please use spellcheck and make sure your posts make sense.
◆ Quality over quantity, but try to give at least 2-3+ good paragraphs. As long as people have something to work with.
◇ Posts can be simple or decorated, but make sure layouts don’t stretch the page weird or use super blinding colors.
◆ I would like for people to at least include a picture of the character, their name, and role in each post.
◇ If you want to include other things like who your character is with/where they are/a small OOC section, feel free.


Absences/Hiatus

◆ If you are busy and know you won’t be able to post, either PM me or quote me in the OOC to let me know.
◇ If people are inactive for too long without any notice (over 2 weeks), I can remove or give your character to someone else.
◆ That said, please please please try to be active! I will be more willing to let posts be prolonged if you at least give us a heads up in the OOC
or show you are still alive and interested. I know people get busy with school and work, but I want this to be a fun and somewhat active roleplay,
and it’s hard to keep things moving when people abandon or can’t make the commitment.

Management – The head honchos. The owner makes all the final decisions when it comes to important things around the Four Paws. The managers work in their respective areas to ensure everything is running smoothly, finances are handled, customers are satisfied, and supplies are stocked.

Front Desk – Receptionists check in/out any patrons at the hotel as well as take turns handling luggage if things get busy. They also ensure that the front is always neat and tidy and welcoming. The host/hostess greets customers heading into the café. They take reservations, show people to their seats, and when things are busy or staff is short they sometimes wait tables as well or tidy up. Bellhops are the primary individuals tasked with handling luggage, but they also show people to their rooms, help with the door, and occasionally act as guards.

Food and Drink Preparation – The Four Paws is renowned for the delicacies coming from its kitchen. Chefs prepare all of the hotel meals while the bakers concoct all of the pastries and sweets the café is most sought out for. Baristas prepare all of the drinks for customers including tea, coffee, expressos, etc. The bartender of the Four Paws works beyond the café in a lounge area where the bar is located.

Service – Waiters and waitresses tend to customers having meals in the café. They are also tasked with cleaning up tables after customers leave. They are also the ones to deliver any room service orders. Housekeepers handle all of the cleaning around the hotel and café, mainly focusing on cleaning hotel rooms, though.
