Greed's a hack i mean ultimate armor like come on they can make it a little easier 2 kill him

His "Ultimate Shield" is not that ultimate, his ability is to manipulate the carbon in his body (The human body being mostly based on carbon); changing the way that carbon is bound chemically is what makes the difference between charcoal and granite or diamonds, by increasing the strength of the bonds; the stronger the bonds, the harder the resulting material.

OP - I think the visual comparison is merely a coincidence
