Can You Affix a Soul to a Homunculus?

Ok, so I was reading the manga, and I started to wonder. Here's the question: using the same method that brought Al tho the armor, could you make a homunculus body and affix a soul to it? Would you need a Philosopher's Stone for the homunculus? (Now that I think of it, you probably wouldn't...)

you mean create an artificial body and attach a soul to it? i'm not sure...i suppose it could be possible if there was a means for the body to sustain itself, but i'm not sure

Well I assume you could, it would just have to be a dead body.
