Ok i will tell the version i heard
In celtic cultures on the Friday 13th the Wiccas (celtiques priests) get togehter and make rituals to the moon(Aquellares), when th Catholics find it out, decided to kill them because there were "witches" so they came and kill them in horrible ways, so for the Catholics it was of bad luck because the the Wiccas made meetings, and for the Celts was a bad day because, lots of their people was killed.
But before that it was a day full of magic and good luck ;3

True even to this day most Wicca still use this day as a day of spell making and much more. It is also said that the Wicca cursed those that harmed their fellow sisters and brothers hense the bad luck part.
