Well, actually, right now I am working on the third item gathered via Valentines being sent to me. Darned candy hearts. And do you know what happens when you get at least one of every candy heart? And do you need to keep the valentines in your mail for them to count..?

Once you get valentines in your mail, you can just delete them. You don't have to read them.
I already got all the items for collecting and receiving the hearts.

Okay. How many gifts are there for this event for sending/receiving hearts?

To be honest i'm not sure. Once you get the ankle heart items, that's all.

So I went to the marketplace and looked up 2k13, and there appear to be only 3 items received for the hearts/valentines.

Yup. The hat, hairpin, and the ankles.
