It has been proven time and time again that in general people that have guns for there protection are less safe as just having the gun itself is more of a danger. Most people, even if they could press the trigger when it counts, will be much less skilled with the weapon than their attacker, but are much more likely to get shot by the attacker as he or she will feel more unsafe. But the gun companies continue to propagate there false clams that the gun will make their target audience safer... and the general public don't know any better.

So tell me, especially as someone who has a bad leg and would be dead meat in an actual up close confrontation, how I'm safer when facing a larger assailant without my handgun, which I incidentally HAVE trained with on how to use in a violent situation?

I hate that 'it has been proven' bullshit when it has NOT been proven at all. Their 'support' is all from organizations like the Brady Campaign that is not even remotely unbiased.
And that is if they even try to blow smoke up someones a** other than stating 'it has been proven'. 'Yeah? Where?' 'Oh, well, you just gotta take my word on it. I'm right.'

Supreme court case has alreay been decided, and been reinforced by smaller cases. Police are not required to protect you, hell, they aren't even required to enforce a restraining order against someone out to kill you.

I don't want every Tom, d**k, and Harry to be able to legally own a firearm anymore than I want every Tom, d**k and Harry to legally own and drive a bulldozer. I want standards on who can and can't legally own and carry. That's why when people buy a gun from me, I run their name through the NICS. I see a red flag, no gun, and lots of things bring up a red flag. If I so much as sell the smallest little pea-shooter to someone and don't clear them, or ignore a red flag, my job in this business is done like dishes.

Most criminals don't buy their guns - they steal them from folks who buy them and don't have the sense/means to protect those firearms from theft the way police officers are trained to (at least in places where they are, in fact, trained).

Also, very funny when you assume that sidearms are all police have access to. The North Hollywood Shootout ensured that they get access to heavier arms.

What about like, a shotgun, musket, that shot out, shotgun rounds, and was a break action instead of a muzzle loader, with paper cartridges keeping them contained?

The general low velocity and poor accuracy of the musket could easily be resolved, and plus it would be nearly as powerful with that much black powder. Great for CQB and easier to reload, allowing for a faster sustained rate of fire. Plus the musket ball wouldn't need to be quite as uniform or complex to make, meaning a bunch of random shot would be suitable.


Like have like, six or so of these as pistols, and then a rifle!

So you could snipe at long range, but then have some CQB speed stuff. Just draw a new, double barreled pistol.
