You see that eliminates the main argument against book burning. The attempts of christians to cleanse their schools and neighborhoods of material they did not like involved burning every copy they could find. That was offensive because it was destroying art and knowledge. You are correct, you could not possibly burn every bible in existence, but the point is not to erradicate the work of fiction from the world, but to send a message to the christian community about either how stupid they are, or how hypocritical they are.

The first time I brought up the idea a lot of people actually complained that I was trying to wipe out ll traces of the bible. It was a stupid argument.

Argument invalid, I'm not stupid or a hypocrite. You cannot judge everyone based on others actions.

I am pretty comfortable judging anyone who believes in the bible as a complete and utter moron. if you are christian and believe in the bible then you are stupid. it is like believing in harry potter. if you want to do that, it is your choice, but I am going to call an idiot and idiot and i find no reason to respect such rampant stupidity.

You can call me whatever you like, doesn't shake my faith or change my beliefs. If you bash someone for their beliefs, I call you a dense fool. I have no respect for people who have no respect for others. Especially for the ones who do it over the internet. razz

it has been almost 2000 years of idiocy and violence. I admire your hope, but i am not going to live long enough to see them run out of stupid, or run out of people to kill. if i am wrong, i will be very happy to be wrong.

The problem isn't with Christianity itself, it's the extremist fools. Burning a Bible attacks everybody in the group, even though your anger should be directed at the jerk individuals. Go to a Westboro Baptist Church protest with a sign that says "God Hates People Who Hate Fags," print copies of that Rick Santorum portrait made of gay porn and post them everywhere, burn a bunch of cardboad Rick Perrys. These people are the problem, not all Christians.
