Guys, season 8 isn't going to be the final season. Found out through tumblr and twitter updates.
Although if this means Supernatural will end in 2014...

It hasn't been decided yet if there's going to be a season 9 yet. The CW's Mark ***** said that he's not looking at season 8 being the final season. That doesn't mean we'll get a 9th season.

Three times?
And that isn't counting the year Dean spent with Lisa.
Sigh.
I get what Jared means about getting to delve into each of the brothers' characters but I just feel it's been done.

Highlight below for major spoilers for tonight's finale and S8:

Things We Know:

The major characters in 7x23 are Dean, Sam, Cas, Bobby, Meg, d**k, Crowley, and Kevin.
Dean and Sam are going to be unintentionally separated in Season 8.
Dean will be in a “really sticky situation”. (Words from Jensen himself)
Two fan favorites will end up in an “unexpected place”. (Most likely Dean and Cas)
Dean will end up in a situation “he’s never been in”.
The episode includes the “emotional departure of a beloved character”. (Most likely Bobby)
We’re going to say goodbye to “more than one beloved character”. (Again, most likely Bobby)
Jim Michaels said it’s going to be hard to work with Rachel Minor next year because of her geographical location. (Meaning Meg will most likely die/leave)
Meg douses d**k with Borax. (So she's probably going to get killed)
Jared had the brunt” of the emotional storyline this year.

Things We Can Infer:

Cas is going to be in Season 8.
Fan favorites means Team Free Will- Dean, Sam, Bobby, and Cas.
The TV Guide article suggests that only one death is of a well-liked character.
Bobby is more than likely going to die, as is d**k Roman.
Meg may also die, or she may leave.
Crowley isn’t a demon. (Hinted by Mark Sheppard in a convention)
Dean and Cas appear to be in the same places during the episode.
Since Dean and Sam are separated, and Cas is not likely to be one of the characters to die, he’s the one in the “unexpected place” with Dean.

I swear on youtube there was a scene where Dean, Sam and Cas were standing outside Sucracrop, with Cas holding a jug of Borax and Dean says "Try not to die" to them.
Where did that scene go? Did they cut it out?

Maybe it's because Kevin wasn't meant to be a prophet, but rather forced to be one when the Word of God was opened? I don't know, it could be that he didn't count as a proper prophet lol
