They sure were.

Most producers like that don't play large venues, so the tickets are cheap. I saw Pictureplane for about $12 up-front. Have you ever heard of Pictureplane? He's a really good producer, and the person who came up with the name 'Witch House'.

Yeah, I get what you mean.
Chillwave is great, but there are only a handful of good Chillwave producers. My favorite ones would have to be Toro Y Moi, Washed Out, Memory Cassette, Teen Daze, and Neon Indian.
And I personally think that Witch House is one, big, awesome gimmick. Everyone after SALEM took the joke of Witch House too seriously, really. Except for oOoOO since he also produces Chillwave and Shoegaze.

Oh, I see now. Okay. So exactly what is #Seapunk? What are its influences? This is pretty interesting.

It's a lot like WH in the sense that it started as a sort of a meme type thing and fireforeffects just broke down and made a lable "coral records" and signed hella people like teams and zombelle they just make aquatic tunes.
