For the pants? Darker browns and grays. Maybe one with a gear as a buckle.

I have changed a buckle to a gear. (:

Maybe if they were larger and centered on the head,
like a standard hat?
Making them larger would also allow you to add more detail to them.
You could add patches or zippers or stains or whatever extra decoration feels appropriate to you.

Honestly brown, tan, or cream seem the easiest to coordinate with.
