I don't have enough memory to open so many programs so they changed the color scheme. So I closed a few and it went back to normal. I now have less programs open than I normally but it still gets like this every time I open windows messenger. Help?
Sounds almost like a compatibility thing. Sometimes the color goes down to a different bit for a program.

What version of windows messenger are you using? What other programs are starting as well?

Have you tried to manually change the color bit? I believe it is right click on desktop > Monitor settings > something in there.

Also update JAVA that could fix it.

I'm using windows messenger 2009 with msgplus. But it didn't start doing this until my laptop cut off because it had no juice then when I cut it on I rushed to get on itunes and buy this album, use gaia, and msn at the same time..
How much memory do you have?

What version of windows are you running?

Vista >w<
1 - http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/172619-color-bit-depth-settings.html
Do that, change your color depth to 32-bit.

2 - General Computer Speedup/Maintenance.
Section 2 of post 4, drivers. Get your video/graphics one and install it, then perhaps restart.

Wait nevermind. :C
I still can't open up Messenger, Mozilla, and tunes at the same time without it flashing back and forth from 8-bit to 32 bit.

Right click on my computer then click properties. That will tell us how much RAM you have.

As for video RAM you can go into device manager and get the name of your card. A simple google search will then say the specs.

My memory ram is 2.00 GB. :0
And where in the device manager do I click to find my card?
Do the second thing I said.
To make it easier just download CPU Z

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Run it then go to the graphics tab. It should tell you there.
