Good to see you in here again.

I'd like to know some of the other phrases
that you've worked out personally. I know
people would pay for what you've got so
far but none really appeal to me.
My guess is for a regular t-shirt, probably
about $10-$12. If it's a tank top then
maybe $7-$8? Keeping it a reasonable
price that is about middle ground could
lead to more people buying them and
of course word of mouth.

I came up with the idea yesterday, so I'm still looking for suggestions.
I have some more, but I'm not sure where my list went. xD

If it were just a shirt, I'd agree with those prices, but I am embroidering the text by hand. That takes me about an hour per letter, so each shirt could be a whole day's worth of work for me and then some.

under 10 letters/symbols then 15-18$
If it's got 15 letters, 20-22.
Up to 20, 25$. I know that might seem
low but with doing stuff like this you
have to make sure that the price is
still something that they are willing to
pay for what you're giving them. Most
consumers don't really care how long
it takes to do it. If it's simple they don't
want to pay too much for it.
Speaking from experience, I was trying to
sell hand painted decorative masks for a
while and no one wanted to pay what I was
asking. It's not an easy thing to do.

I was thinking around $30 if I don't make the shirt myself for X number of characters (Haven't decided what number yet) then $3-$5 for each additional character past that number.
As much as I know it would be easier to sell them if I made them cheaper, I've undercharged for my work in the past and I have a lot of friends that make a living off of making things.
I'm willing to go a bit lower depending on what percentage of people I ask wouldn't pay that much.

Yes, but I don't really have the money for initial materials for other things.
I've recently tried just doing random craft commissions in the past but they'd always fall through.
I'd spend weeks talking to someone about a project so that I was sure of exactly what they wanted and we agreed on materials and prices, etc...but whenever it came to the point where I asked for the initial payment, they would just stop talking to me.

Very true. Honestly if it takes off and you
can build a following I know there's probably
cosplayers that need stuff done, school
crests and stuff. Granted they'd probably have
to send you what they want embroidered.

She has a doctor's appointment tomorrow so we'll see. But we know 2 kids she was playing with have it now so now she might have gotten it from them.
