When I was 10 and didn't know how to deal with my social anxiety, I would lie to my friends and tell them I couldn't hang out because I was making them a giant present.

Of course I didn't know how to make anything.

I told everybody that my bird died from being exposed to an illness outside. Since, you know, tiny birds are sensitive.

But the truth was that I tortured and killed it with my bare hands.
This is literally the first time I have ever said anything about this.

It haunts me so bad and I feel so guilty about it.
I also attempted suicide a month later.

I have killed small animals as well when i was younger... i never felt remorse nor have ever felt the need to take my own life. I am sorry to hear that you attempted to do such a feat.
