what pisses me off is other people get banned with no email as to why


I'd like to think that we're as fair as possible, but that we make mistakes on occasion.

As for why people don't get emails, there are a few possible reasons why that happens:

1. The account's email has gone inactive, and the email bounces.
2. The email provider does something like spam-filter it, either filing it in an unexpected place or blocking it outright.
3. The banned user hasn't checked the account's email in a while.
4. The user jumped to the conclusion that the email wasn't sent, because the email has just not been received yet. (Yes, there is a time between the email being sent, and being received - and there are people who manage to check their email between these moments.)

These are the most typical; it's occasionally the case that the user was hacked (and the email changed,) or that the system glitches and doesn't send the email, but these are not as common.
