I know plenty of preppy Asians that just love anime. They shop at Aeropostle, GAP, and all those other places yet they always keep a manga in tow as well as have some sort of anime accessory; pins, keychains, stickers, a Naruto headband or some sort of wristband.

Heh, I'm Asian and I love nu-metal, death metal, J-Rock/Visual Kei, industrial rock, and progressive rock. I like to wear black sometimes. I wear skater shoes because they're very comfortable. I play videogames. I like to think that I'm a mixture of social classes. A twisted mush of stereotypes and I love anime and manga.

Well, in some ways, you are right. Anime is very misunderstood by the popular crowd and is usually viewed as "cartoon porn" or "kid stuff".

Heh, and you forgot one stereotype: Asians. No matter what social classification you find, that person usually likes anime.

While I must admit myself to be a proud Asian (Philippines!) and I must say I love me some anime and manga, but my best friend, who is also Asian, doesn't really like it. heart

Well, according to all the stereotypes...

Emos are the ones that are always sad. They write depressing poetry. The guys wear girl pants and they also shop at thrift store. They have long hair and they can do the flippy thing like the guy from the band. If a person listens to My Chemical Romance or Dashboard Confessional, there's a chance that that person is emo.

Punks are rebellious. They listen to punk music. They have wild hairstyles.

Goths usually wear black and they are "creepy". False "goths" say that they're goth because they worship the Devil and they try desperately to be "dark". They usually listen to metal and something heavy, angry, and sometimes depressing. European death metal and all that. Goths can also write depressing poetry.

Goths and emos are sometimes confused with one another, but there are some big differences between the two. Goths don't wear girl pants, that's for sure.

Actually those stereotypes are really just the only people who admit they like anime. I know plenty of jocks who like the stuff, but will never admit it to their friends because they're afraid they'll be made fun of.

that moslty nerds,punks,goths,and emo people like anime...... i mean do you ever see anime stuff in JCpenny.... its in hottopic.... its kinda rare to see preps liking anime... and people like that...ill be shocked to know if any populars are inlove with anime...... (when i say popular i man the people who take way to much time on make up and hair...and the guys... the ones who obsses over sports all the time.) but if you know other wise....... please tell me... i dont want to streroytype.......

I'm nothing, and LOVE anime! ^^ and I had a freind who BECAME a prep and likes anime (but she's afraid to admit it) I was the one interdused her to it. now she is crazy about Fruits Basket! ^^
but we arn't freinds anymore because she didn't like the fact that I like black . . .and because of the way I dressed stare . . . but that's off topic! blaugh

I don't fit the sterotype. At my school all of the people who like anime wear nothing but black and red, and I walk into Japanese Club wearing bright Blues and other colors. I'm 16th in my class and a Band Nerd. You can't really put me in a sterotype so don't try.
