So I'm finally getting started on putting together my underground music directory/hangout. Hopefully, as time goes on, I'll be able to have someone reporting/updating for each state and/or genre. I'm really excited! It would be such a good way to get people in the loop about real 131 bands and give the artists some small amount of publicity. (The Lumineers used to play little shows in barbecue/bowling joints and now they're nominated for two Grammy awards for Best New Artist and Best Americana Album.) Who knows, someone might even discover that they like a band or genre they've never even heard of before. I mean, I thought Gypsy Punk sounded ridiculous until I heard DeVotchKa.
Anyways, I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out the logistics of putting something like this together. Sigh.

Side note: the dates for the 2013 UMS have been posted! In the words of Cup Stacking Girl, YES, OHMYGOD!
