Today, I would like to discuss--brace yourself--bathroom etiquette.

I know this is a weird poll, but it's not a joke. I would honestly like to know.

What I want to ask is this:
When approaching any bathroom in either your or another person's house, do you knock first or try to walk in?

When you're on the other side of the door, do you lock it or no?

Ah, okay. I don't lock in mine either. When I'm at someone's house I always lock, and knock first before entering any bathroom.

I usually knock to avoid an awkward situation, I even knock in my own home. And I always lock the door so I don't have to do that awkward shuffle of putting my pants on or grabbing a towel before I'm even done shower gonk

Oh, I didn't think about that. We have two dogs in our house, so we have to keep the doors closed all the time ;;

If I'm in the restroom, I lock the door when I'm using it because I don't want people walking in on me. If the lock is broken I'll try to hold it closed or something. Or turn on the fan so people know I'm in there.

Well I always knock when I am not at home cause I don't wanna see someones wewe or something.

A very long time ago, at home, I used to walk in no problem cause I didn't care if I bugged a family member it was my job to bug. x^D

But that being said, When you forget you had the guy you like sleeping over and his in your bathroom....and walk in on him....everything changed... It is thanks to that now I always knock on doors when closed. and I never saw that guy again xD.

and for the same reason now, I always lock it behind me. I don't want something like that ever happening to me ever!

So there's my story of why I always knock on doors and lock them behind me.

I don't live alone either. I usually expect people (at least, the people who live with me) to knock in my house, even if the door is locked.

I always ask to use the restroom first, knick just in case, and lock the door so there aren't any awkward mishaps. I don't lock the door in my own home. I live with my boyfriend and we have two restrooms, so if one's closed, I get the hint and just use the other one.
