Welcome to Gaia! ::

OK, so I have an AVI file here with the following:
Audio - MP3 - 128kbit stereo - 16KB/s
Video - XVID - 1024kbit 24fps - 128KB/s

See the obvious mistake in the following?

Edit: One is reported in bits, the other in bytes. Both use "kbps".
It's no wonder most forum-goers fail to make the distinction when they talk about "k", when even MS don't seem to bother.

I cry censorship and repressing of free speech! I want to see what the file is. ninja

I also noticed on a file I had, windows XP and Mac OS gave a significantly different file size, even though it was the same amount of bytes on both systems.
Something completely innocent and certainly not an illegal downloaded TV episode! (:

Look at the bitrate and datarate reported for audio and video.
One is reported in bits, one in bytes (respectively);
Both use "kbps".
wow, thats just sad.
