Neither machines nor Homunculi have a better chance against the other. This is solely judged on character alone and who would fit best.


But as for names and gods with several, only if they technically are from different religions. Such as the Greek pantheon after it was taken over by the Roman pantheon.
An example: I own Pluto, someone else is allowed to own Hades.
