I hope that during my lifetime we won't need to isolate one race's history in order to get a good education on it, that it will be integrated as it needs to be into the regular history lesson and told accurately. This celebration was necessary back in the day when racism and ignorance was rampant... But is it still necessary today?

Yes, segregation is horrible! Let's just hope that the African Americans of today will stop committing self-segregation in this country.
