Riker Saiforro
✓ Thirty-two ✓ Vampire ✓ Owner of the Estate
Riker grinned when Abel mentioned the treats and kind words. No, it was much more than that. Firebird liked Abel for more than just the treats that he gave her. The horse was very intuitive, and Abel was a kind and caring boy. The two were a good match as far as the vampire was concerned. Of course, all of the horses in the barn loved the boy for his gentle and friendly nature.
He listened carefully as Abel went on to talk about the topic of Riker's bad dreams once more. Yes, he was certainly a smart child. "Well, there is nothing wrong with feeling comforted by your mother. Even if you are thirteen. I always turned to my mother when I needed help, even after I was in college," the vampire chuckled at the thought. His mother and father had always been just a phone call away. Even so, Abel was accurate when he stated that Riker really didn't have anyone to help him feel better. His mouth twisted a bit as he went into thought about it. The air in the stables was silent for a moment and Riker busied himself with un-clipping Ricochet from the grooming corner. He then began leading the horse down the aisle and back to his stall. "If I have a bad dream I usually find something to do," he stated rather simply. "Usually I go for a ride with Ricochet or find a book to read. Sometimes I just go back to my office to find something to work on. There is never a lack of things to do. But once I do wake up there is no going back to sleep," he said as he shut the stall door and locked it. "I may still be rather young but I have a very very very long life ahead of me, so hopefully I will figure something out eventually," as he finished speaking he let out a bit of a nervous chuckle. Riker wasn't exactly enthused with the idea of living for a longer lifespan than humans. Sometimes life felt like torture, even though he did enjoy it most of the time. Even so, it would be a hell of a lonely life and he knew it. If he could find a way to turn human then he would in a heartbeat. His nose scrunched up and he turned his eyes to K2, who was laying on the floor.
Riker thought quietly for a moment before coming up with an idea. "Hey, I just thought of something. Would you like to help me write up the email for Alek's family?" He wanted Abel to know for sure that his promise to write Tol'Stoj and Rhiannon was not an empty one. What better way than by having the boy help him? "We can use the computer in my office." He always enjoyed Abel's company anyone, so her certainly didn't mind having his help.
