Location: Kingdom of the North
Company: Little sister Lucinda ad Atreus

The red-headed princess hadn't unwrapped her covered arms until she heard the shaky voice of her younger brother, the youngest of the six Aquilonem siblings. A happy sigh escaped her lips as she looked over at him, her smile shining over to him "Ah, Atreus, good morning, I'm so glad you're awake. I was just talking to Lucinda about departure. We're planning on leaving today, yes, that's what I was told was the plan. Arowen already set off this morning, from what the servants told me. I was curious if our sister here wanted to join me in the carriage, but I suppose I need to extend the question to you too." Her smile grew wider as she met her brother when he finished his walk to his older sisters. Placing her gloved hands on his cheeks lightly, she greeted him with her standard kiss on his forehead. Iris knew that he was growing a little too old for such gestures of affection, but she couldn't help herself this morning; she was feeling too damn good.

The princess pulled back from her brother, smiling still as she looked him over before worry flashed in her blue/green eyes, and a pout began to pull at her lower lip. Her baby brother looked as if he hadn't slept at all last night.

Iris had finished a set of rings for him early before she got properly dressed, but when she went to deliver them to Atreus, three different maids told her three different stories. One had said that he had already left with Arowen this morning, another said he went off to the mines with Aidan, the third said that a guard told her that he was training outside with the guardsmen. From the way he looked, Iris went with the training story.

"My, my, little brother, you look exhausted... Perhaps you'll ride in the carriage with me? 'Lest you fall off your horse out of lack of sleep." She gave him another smile, pushing a few stands of her brother's red hair, a family trait they each possessed.

The blonde man fought to keep the grin from his lips, at the expression on his little sister’s face when she said she wasn’t oblivious. Clayton was fairly certain that his baby sister was one of the most endearingly absentminded people he knew, although he would never say that to her face. He was constantly saving her from one mishap or another. Not that the want-to-be hero minded; if nothing else the ladies loved a man who was willing to do whatever it takes to please them. If the oldest Awyrain son was willing to go so far for his baby sister, just think of what he would be willing to do for someone unrelated. Thoughts of just what some of the more appreciative women were willing to do start running through his head, while green eyes began to glaze over. All other thoughts, like the pervert his Arianna was trying to sneak off to meet and the little festival he was already beginning to forget once more leaving his head.

It was the sound of the little blonde’s sweet voice informing him that Skylar had already left that broke him out of his thoughts. I really shouldn’t be thinking such thoughts in front of Ari anyway. What if they somehow get transferred to her and she starts..Nope. No. Not allowed. My Ari is FORBIDDEN from ever thinking just things. It’s bad enough she is sneaking around to meet…wait a minute. Skylar left already. Where have I been? You would think I would notice something like that. Oh well not like the girl can’t take care of herself. I am fairly certain she could take on an army with an arched eyebrow. Not that it makes it easier on me right now. Now I have to think of another excuse. I am never going to get to go to bed am I? A defeated sigh tried valiantly to fall past Clayton’s lips, but he refused to let it.

Straightening up and trying to modulate his voice so that he wouldn’t sound patronizing he began speaking, hoping that the green eyed woman would just go with it. “Yes but that’s Skylar. Would you want to be on the wrong side of her? I bet Vivian is still here. She is smart enough to make sure to not leave without the proper escort.” Silently Clayton prayed he was right and that the middle of his three sisters hadn’t left as well. If she had he would have to come up with some other logic and he wasn’t sure he had the brain power for such things. “Why don’t we find her and see if Artemis or Caelan have left yet? If they haven’t we can all head out together, that way you and Vivian won’t just have myself watching out for you. First maybe we should head up to get dressed.” Moving his hand in a gesture for her to proceed the way he came he also silently thought, And bathe. I definitely need to find some way to get this stench off me. Maybe I can even find a way to sleep on the journey there.

xxxThe youngest prince of the Aquilonem line couldn't help but return his sister's smile when she beamed at his presence. From her elegant attire to the classic bangs that framed her face, Iris was as beautiful as the gems she crafted and cut. His smile faltered upon hearing the news that some of his siblings had already departed, leaving behind the others. A part of him felt conflicted on the thought. On the down side, his family wouldn't show up together to display their regal presence for all to see; on the bright side Atreus himself wouldn't end up the shadow in the glory of his family.

xxxAtreus pushed aside his thoughts however when he made his stroll to where his sister stood, outside of Lucinda's quarters. Admittedly the young princess felt a little intimidated in the presence of the artist of his family until the warmth radiating from his sister's hand reached up to his cheeks, coaxing him to straighten out his posture while a pair of lips reached up to give him a light peck on the forehead. A feeling of affection mixed with embarrassment coursed through his veins causing him to reinforce his smile with his face taking on a light tinge colouring his cheeks.

xxxThe red-haired youth eventually lost his embarrassment however the moment his eyes made contact with Iris' gray eyes. He could tell immediately that there was a flash of shame in her eyes when she began to form a pout. He had a feeling that asking the maids to cover for him should anyone ask for him told a story that didn't hold. He had always found it easier to maintain friendly personal relationships with the servants and guards particularly the women for some odd reason...

xxxAttempting to hide his guilt for knowing that he may have been caught doing something he shouldn't, Atreus turned his attention to the only other child of the Aquilonem line that was considered the baby of the family. Putting up a warm smile for Lucinda to mask the fearful reverence he had for her he made an attempt to talk to her. "You look very beautiful in that dress
" He tried to keep his tone level, yet there was something about Lucinda that separated her from everyone else. Sure she wasn't quite as odd and quirky as Arowen was at times, but she still had something that he couldn't quite put his hand on. Whatever it was, it just made him learn very on to never cross her even if she were only two years his senior.xxx

xxxOn the inside Atreus cringed when his sister called him on his lack of sleep. Directing his forest green gaze to his older sister, he could only offer a cheeky grin before shaking his head, "It's only.. ..just the nerves. I've never been to a formal meeting with the other families. it wasn't an exact lie per say. He pulled away slightly, playfully encouraging Iris to leave his hair alone.

xxx"Allow me to drive the coach, that way if I fall asleep on the bench then, yeah? I would prefer to drive anyways since Luis would prefer to be nearby with his wife due soon and Carlisle may be coming down with an illness." he spoke while tapping his chin with his index finger, a habit he often picked up when trying to recall gossip and rumours around the palace. One would learn that the walls really do have ears when they befriend those spend their days cleaning and shining them.xxx
                                          xxxxxx
"I will go draw the carriage for my ladies."

Hang my head. Drown my fear.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Lucinda scoffed and turned her head when Iris called her beautiful, the apples of her cheeks coloring. She willed herself not to imagine actually having fun at a ball… laughing, and eating, drinking and dancing… with women? As if I’d be allowed. The only thing that could possess her to lose her inhibitions enough to actually not care like that is alcohol. She started to say something along the lines of “flattery will get you nowhere”, but looked into her sister’s eyes and saw how hopeful she looked, and settled for just sighing and pinching the bridge of her nose as Iris got to the point of why she was at Lucinda’s door in the first place.

“Arowen left already?” She asked, trying to sound inquisitive instead of disappointed. Like Iris, Arowen was easygoing and pleasant to be around. However, he probably left on his horse. “Doesn’t matter, as long as I don’t have to ride with Annabelle. I’m not done packing. You are? That’s funny; I’d think you were taking more things than I am.” She crossed her arms over her chest and shifted her weight to one leg. Ow my ankle. She hissed, returned to supporting her weight with both legs, and tapped her chin sardonically. “I should really get someone to start packing for me. You want to call a maid for me, Iris? I think at a certain point, they’re going to just start pretending to not hear me.”

Before Lucinda could finish with what she would do to the maids if they all collectively ignored her, Atreus, the youngest of the Aquilonem family, came rushing down the hallway looking disheveled to say the least. He didn’t get to even finish his sentence before Iris started unabashedly doting on him, kissing his forehead and holding his cheeks and cooing at him in a soothing voice. Lucinda simply looked on with her arms over her chest and her eyebrows raised, lips pursed shut, lest she ruin the moment.

Her face fell into a frown when he mentioned that she “looked beautiful in this dress “. Unfortunately, Lucinda’s damn-near nonexistent gauge for what she perceived as empty compliments had already been used up by Iris. “Would you all stop saying that? It just sounds forced.” She rolled her eyes and dramatically threw her hands up in the air. She narrowed her eyes and made eye contact with Atreus. She thought she saw glimpses of fear. While this was usually a good thing to Lucinda, as she liked being feared, she usually tried to tone it down for Atreus; He'd never really done anything that made her think he needed "The Fear of Lucinda" instilled in him. Maybe she was overthinking, and he was just nervous to go to the neutral grounds, as he'd just admitted.

Regardless, Lucinda tried to soften the look from her eyes, and look a little more sympathetic. When Atreus offered to drive the carriage himself, she shook her head. “As much as I am completely and utterly hesitant to ride a horse, as they disgust me, I am even more hesitant to ride in a carriage where the driver is half-asleep. Just let Lawrence or whatever his name was do his job. I’m sure he’ll have other children.”

Until you all just disappear...

Iris pulled her hands back from her brother, noticing him pull away slightly. She kept a smile on her face as she moved her hands to the top of her skirts to smooth them down, despite the fact they had hardly moved with her standing relatively still. "Now, now, sister, let's not be mean. A firstborn is a very important time in a families life, but Atreus, I agree with Lucinda. You've got to rest, so join us in the carriage and I'll find someone else to drive our carriage. I'm sure a guard would be happy to cooperate." Her hands moved to her hair, dragging her gloved fingers through the long strands of red.

The smile on her face hadn't changed, but only those who truly paid attention to how Iris's eyes shone could see something had changed. It fell off quickly as she looked over to Lucinda. "Ah, haha, I started packing... A week ago, sister." She said, blushing a little at how correct her sister was with how much she planned on taking. "I only finished last night. I'll call maids for you when I go to search for Aidan. I'm sure I'll find a few in the main hall."

Iris gently turned her attention to Lucinda, smiling as she had when she greeted her. "But, do make sure you bring something lively. I don't want to be the one who picks what you wear to the Masquerade." She gave the eighteen year old a playful wink before making a little dance away from the both of them. "I love you both, dear kin, but I must go find Aidan. I do want to know if he's coming with us while the sun hasn't reached high-noon."
Although unnecessary, the creative young woman gave both of her siblings a fine curtsy before turning down the hall way Atreus had just come up to go ask around in the main hall if any of the servants had seen the eldest son of the Aquilonem line. She knew he hadn't left yet, for their parents would have mentioned something about it, but she hand't the slightest idea of where in the castle (or mines, for that matter) where he could be. Yet, asking around normally got her an answer... Perhaps the kitchen staff would know?

xxxAtreus lowered his gaze to the marble floor trying to find it more interesting than to make eye contact with anyone when Lucinda snapped at him for his compliment. He could feel slight chills traveling down his spine as he bit back a sigh. He couldn’t retort back at her nor could he try to mitigate her cold demeanor towards him. This was simply one of many failed attempts to get into her good graces. "Yes sister." was all he could say as he nodded.

It certainly didn't help that both sisters were inclined to agree with each other in not allowing him to drive the carriage either. It would seem even more insult was added when Lucinda's improvident regards to the carriage drivers. Atreus bristled visibly before regaining his composure to fall in line. Pulling on a smile he made sure to avoid eye contact with both his sisters.

                                          "xxx
Very well then. I will go fetch someone to draw the carriage." There was something about the Aquilonem line. Or perhaps it was a trait developed through family bonds, but the saying that eyes were a window to one's soul rang especially true within their line. With a brief nod, Atreus departed to go draw the carriages for his siblings.xxx

Rowland shook his head and smiled softly a his sister recounted the events leading up to her chase down the hallway by the maid. He reached out a firm hand and placed his on his Yvette's shoulder, giving it a gentle affirming squeeze, "I know, I know, no need to fret over it Yvette," he coaxed. Rowland could have gone into a speech about how it was the maid's job to watch after her and make sure she was presentable before leaving the room, but it was easy to see she was upset as it was, there was no need to scold her about it.

The smile on his chiseled face widened as he let out a chuckle at his sister's remarks about buying her a new swimsuit and their sister Clara's causing trouble. He let his sister's petite arm slip into his larger, allowing her to gently pull him forward. Rowland and Yvette were very close, and despite the unfavorable circumstances, he was glad he and his siblings had to come to the treaty signing because it gave them some time to spend together. His expression turned slightly grave as his sister mentioned getting into to trouble with another one of he guests, "Its hardly your behavior while speaking with one of the nobles that worries me," . Rowland was very aware that his sister was a beautiful girl, and he distrusted some of the other kingdom's nobility that they would be spending time with. He would have to keep a watchful eye on Yvette, Clara as well, to be sure they weren't. . . taken advantage of. Now, Jophina on the other hand, beautiful as she was, he was less worried about. In fact, knowing his sister, he saw it more likely that Jophina would make an inappropriate pass at someone than the other way around.

Rowland took a deep inward breath, exhaling with a deep sigh as his sister brought up the nature of their visit to the neutral ground. "Honestly Yvette, I haven't a clue in the slightest," he said distantly, a look of worry falling over his features. And that was the truth, Rowland really didn't know anything. Sure, he had his suspicions of war, but he was hardly going to worry his baby sister over something so severe unless he was completely sure. He looked down at her, expression still grave, "And it's that I don't know anything that worries me," he concluded. He and all his siblings knew that their father included Rowland in everything involving the kingdom, as was his right as the heir to the throne. The fact that Rowland was being kept out of the loop did not bode well for the Meridiem siblings.

A near fall from the counter had the woman calling it quits on her dancing. There was no point in enjoying herself so much that she broke a leg or something. Then there would certainly be no dancing and she'd be left in the library for an eternity with Azuolas. Not that she didn't love a quiet night of writing now and again, but... well, those things were such solitary activities, and Sabine was far from being a solitary person. She thrived on reactions, emotions, and the presence of others, no matter who they might be. Perhaps that's why she could sit and drink with these men and the occasional woman without casting judgement on them. She didn't mention anything but her name in terms of title. It was better to leave it that way, or else people started treating you in a certain manner. She was no delicate flower, and for some reason, the word 'princess' triggered thoughts of frailty and an undying need to wed.

Sliding down from the counter with the aid of her new found friends, she took a swig of a one--eyed gentlemen's drink. Adjusting her chest and then her skirts, she bid them farewell as a group and slinked out of the stonework building, the heavy wood door creaking shut behind her against its metal latches. Was she bad? Or perhaps, a bad example? No, she didn't think so. She was a flirt, not a drunk! One night of revelry surely couldn't earn her some terrible title. Besides, who could know that she had done anything of the sort besides her youngest brother? The child was a sweetheart, but they were two birds of two entirely different feathers. She was determined to make him more lighthearted yet, and perhaps draw him out of his hard shell. Pausing in front of a bucket of water, she bent over it, adjusting her hair and smoothing out the ebony locks as much as she could, their volume battling her surprisingly steady hands. She was no longer drunk, that was certain. Late last night she had been, but by now it had worn off and she found herself only a little buzzed and loosened up by the alcohol in her veins. She wondered if anything would be said to her when she came home, almost amused by the thought of one of her younger siblings attempting to lecture her on the matter of respect, precedence, or first impressions.

                                              Doubtful.

They were all rather soft in their behavior, and the only one that could possibly come close to managing an authoritative tone with her would probably be Rose. However, Rose would likely talk to the wall before she would choose to talk to Sabine. At least, that was the way that it seemed a significant portion of the time. The most she would get from Azuolas would be a sharp look in the hall or perhaps a frown at dinner. It was all rather inconsequential.

A pair of black leather boots were straightened on her legs, the fold-over at the lowest part of her thigh slipping a little at first before she put it back in its place. There was only a slight heel on the shoes, making them no trouble on her feet as she promenaded through the streets, all confidence and warmth despite the leftover (albeit slight) chill in the air from winter. It was time to go home, she knew it, but it was so difficult to return to the castle of the neutral grounds. What would she find there...? Breakfast, perhaps. Touching her hip, her hand slid beneath some fabric and drew out a small velvet pouch, which she promptly opened and took a coin from, clasping it tight in her palm as she returned the money to its rightful place. Thank the Heavens it was morning. Approaching a stall, she picked out an apple casually and handed over the coin, which was more than necessary, though she didn't demand any change. Biting into the shiny red fruit, she immediately felt refreshed, the lingering taste of alcohol being pried off her tongue by the juices.

It wasn't a challenge to find her way back to the palace, its spires soaring above the numerous rooftops that lie below. The now present sun shined against its back and shadows poured down into the streets, stretching their great length of the more common range of faces.

The guards were reluctant to let her in. They hadn't seen her leave this morning. Where was her identification of any sort? Plenty of people had black hair, surely, that was no identifier. What kind of princess would be out all night? What business had she had in the surrounding village? If she wasn't lying, surely she was the eldest. Shouldn't she be handling any and all affairs rather than wasting precious time? Sabine's only question was who were they to ask. "I'm afraid we can't let you in ma'am.... not without proof." One particularly burly guard stated, the tip of his sword buried in the earth passively, though its presence was enough to make a point. "Oh, truly??" Sabine snapped, fed up with the formalities and the grief that was being given. "Well, perhaps I'm afraid that I can't listen to you, and you need to move aside." No one moved.

Where - The Neutral Grounds palace gates into the village.
With Whom - Two very difficult guards.

Belle did her best to calm herself down, slow her breathing to make it softer than a mouses. She knew that a lady was not to convey those emotions and always show herself as strong, or as she took it never in the wrong. Belle on the other hand wasn't that strong willed. That would be more along the lines of Lucinda, her youngest sister, a quality that Annabelle admired, and at times wished she herself possessed. Belle closed her eyes, those dreams were for another day right now she had to think of what to do. The voices outside, she could hear were more than she thought. There was the man, speaking to who she assumed was his little sister, but there were more. Female and male in all sorts of directions. What had she gotten herself into?

Breathing slowly and calmly Belle inched the door ever so slightly closer, to hopefully not make any noise and have no one notice the change. There was a sitting chair just on the other side of the room, and if Belle could shut the door just enough she could sit in it, until the noise of other people went down. Or she could think of a better way to get out of the damned room she was stuck in. Slowly trying not to make noise with her movement and picking her dress up ever so slightly Belle walked to the other side of the room. There were a couple of books on a table, none that really a lady should read, but with no one around was there really harm?

Her legs close together and under her body under her dress, Belle flipped through the pages of a world book reading about historic ocean adventures. It wasn't anything she was exceedingly interested in, but it was better than reading about trade. As she turned the page she noticed a play book, and instantly picked it up. Any story about lost loves was better than ocean adventures any day. At least to belle it was. With excitement she flipped to a pages settling in on one she hadn't read before. One elbow propped up on the arm of the chair, the book in her lap and her other arm at her side, Belle zoned into the book she was reading, forgetting to listen to the sounds she was hiding from.

Hearing her thoughts echoed about the building in front of her as the blonde stepped over the threshold caused a smile to twist Clara’s lips upward. The woman with the amazing blue eyes then introducing herself as Skylar Dwyrain, one of the children from the royal family of the East caused it to reach her eyes more fully as genuine interest shone in her eyes. The blue eyed woman wasn’t a noble who thought more of his rank than anything else, but another royal forced to deal with such idiots. “It really is. I can understand building a castle to protect against attack, or mapping streets so that an enemy would have to go in circles in order to get where they want most, but to make the very place that someone must live, even for a short period so confusing is utterly stupid. It’s like trying to impress someone with elaborate stories to show off their own sense of self-importance. I think people like to forget that complicated is not always required. That sometimes simple is best.” The brunette had not meant to say so much, but she couldn’t help speak her frustration.

When the Eastern princess stated she had seen someone pass behind earlier she immediately turned to see if she could spot them. Not seeing anyone she let out a small sigh. Of course that would have been too easy. Looks like it truly will be an adventure. I know I wanted something to keep me entertained, but this was not what I had in mind. glancing over at her companion as she began moving forward, chuckling at her reply. At least I have someone as well versed in the use in sarcasm as I. Pretty easy on the eyes as well. The last thought was immediately pushed away. Just because I don’t want to go after someone as easy as the made doesn’t mean I should go after the first blue eyed, blonde who happens show even a little intelligence.

Mentally shaking herself the brunette walked just a little faster to catch up with the woman so that they were walking side by side. “Really we should be thankful.” Clara smirked as she gave the other woman a sly glance, forest green eyes dancing with mirth. “We could be forced into some kind of party where we are forced to interact with people we don’t care for and play polite while internally rolling our eyes at the stories they tell of their adventures.” The Southern princess then made a face of realization that was clearly for dramatic effect only. “Oh wait that’s right. That’s at the end of the week, how silly of me.” Glancing over at the companion as they came to a four way corridor she gave another smile as her eyes now shimmered with suppressed laughter.

At first, Tai couldn't hide the smirk that was creeping upon his face. Oh, did I hit a nerve, brother? He saw Luke's face morph into one of anger and he saw the other man's eyes narrow dangerously at him. On any other circumstance, he would have felt a bit guilty for throwing him under the bus like that. However, as immature as it sounds, Luke started it. If his brother hadn't said that smartass remark about his lazy mannerisms then all of this would have been avoided. His thoughts were soon interrupted though. Tai's bright blue eyes darkened when he felt his younger brother snatch him up as if he was a rag doll. He bit back a gasp when Tai felt the tall man jerk him closely and he hissed as if he was going to kill him right there.Seriously, he's going to pick a fight over something as tiny as this?

Being the eldest son seem to have meant nothing. Despite the fact that he is technically the next in line for his father's throne, he never felt like it. His younger brother harvested superiority over him. He never quite understood how though. Perhaps it was Luke's height? Tai stood at 5'9" while his brother towered over him enough for the raven haired man to have to look up while speaking to him. Or maybe... it was due to the mild fact that Luke was physically more capable than him. Tai's was slightly puny for his age. He had a slim figure accompanied by very little muscle. Sure, he had a modestly natural six-pack, but what was that going to do against a fight?

The elder brother pursed his lips and he could feel himself getting angrier by the moment. He was actually extremely tempted to throw a punch, but knew better. If anything, Tai might get a couple of hits in here and there, but for the most part, it would be a massacre. There would be absolutely no chance in Tai winning a fight against his brother. So, instead, he did all he could do in this situation: He glared fiercely back at his brother with dull eyes. He knew as well as anybody that Luke's threats weren't empty. He could very well beat him to a pulp right now if he so pleased. It was odd though, Tai wasn't necessarily afraid. However, he did feel a bit hopeless. as cliche as it sounds: He was a lover, not a fighter.

That was until their elder sister, Jubilee came. Automatically Luke had released Tai from his vicious grasp and tended to their sister. Tai released a shakily sigh as if to exhale all of the anger away. Though, there was some of it that he just couldn't shake off. It would be a shame to let someone like Luke ruin his day though. Before he could muster a 'Good Morning' to his older sister, both she and Luke were walking away. Brushing himself off the eldest brother turned his back to Luke and glanced over at his baby sister. He cleared his throat, "Are you ready to eat?" Pearly whites were soon emerged as he smiled brightly at Rose. There was no point in worrying about Luke. Besides, Tai wasn't the type to dwell over things that can not be helped. Before he awaited for an answer from her he hurried down the hallway and off to the kitchen.

While initially she was going to wonder aloud why he was so eager to do what would be deemed by anyone as definitely not fit for a prince, she quickly came to the conclusion that he simply did not want to be around her. She couldn’t really blame him; she was a bit hard on him. Iris left soon after, leaving Lucinda to obnoxiously summon servants to help her pack. She handled the jewelry herself, as she didn’t trust the help to not steal from her. Part of her wondered if it was because they were untrustworthy, or because she thought she’d deserve it.

Despite not answering Iris’ question, Lucinda was a little excited to head out to the Neutral Grounds, if for no other reason than because there would be new things to climb. She also was eager to go to a dress shop or tailor to get a dress made for the ball. Iris would definitely want to go; the only problem was how could she tell her without Iris jumping and hugging her?

The servants finished packing all the shoes, dresses, and corsets Lucinda wanted to take with her in a timely fashion. For a change of pace, Lucinda thanked them and dismissed them with what would be considered a gentle tone for her. They looked at her oddly, as if they expected foul play, and exited the room. Lucinda then wondered whether she should follow Atreus or Iris. She ultimately decided to follow Atreus and do damage control.
She finally caught up to him outside, where he had gotten the carriage as he promised, and put her hands on her hips, exhaling. “That was fast,” She said, trying to sound impressed, and pretty sure it didn’t work. “Which one will be driving our carriage?” She walked up and stood next to him. “Or did you still want to do it? I could sit next to you and pinch you so you don’t doze off?”

xxxAtreus found himself very well accommodated once he sought out help. A simple request for a coachmen from the guards led to fairly staggering amount of volunteers from veteran warriors to oddly enough even a few maids that seemed to give him looks that made him a little nervous. Their smiles were friendly enough however their gazes made him feel like a piece of meat. He returned their smiles with a cheerful wave before picking up a volunteer soldier that he had often trained with. They weren't very well acquainted by any means, however the young prince had often shared a meal or two together when training.

xxxWith a familiar acquaintance to assist him in his endeavors, Atreus readied a carriage whilst his companion drew the horses to be readied with the cart. They worked in amicable silence, enjoying the company of each other while making small talk from different weapon uses to ideal stances and form. All the while the young prince couldn't help but think of his volatile sister. Why couldn't he talk with her like he could with the guardsmen assisting in setting up the carriage? He could easily befriend a merchants from the streets to a seasoned warrior yet with family, he was lucky to escape without a scolding remark or a feeling that he didn't do something right.

xxxThe woman of his thoughts decided to show up and break him from his pleasant conversation with his companion as Atreus snapped his head up at the off handed compliment from his dear sister Lucinda. His green eyes faltered in their resolve for a brief moment when he determined her tone to be rather sarcastic, however he was determined to take it in stride this time around. He offered a small smile before requesting his companion to fetch his sister's luggage.

                                          xxx"
I have someone driving the carriage dear sister."" the red haired youth chirped as he beamed down at his sister. She may have been older but he had height even if it was barely noticeable. Atreus didn't much expect a compliment from his sister, so it didn't quite stung as much when she would talk to him but the pain did have a slight lingering effect. He supposed it was better than nothing as opposed to her going more violent and physical rather than just cold and verbal.

xxx"Shall I send word that the carriage is ready for the rest of our siblings?"

Arianna could just tell that her brother was making lecherous thoughts, his eyes glazed more than one of the delicious rolls the cooks made. Her arms folded in front of her form, waiting out the lusty images that had to be dancing around in Clayton's head. 'When will he learn that none of those woman are good enough for him!' she outraged mentally; No lady was going to be deemed worthy in the youngest daughter's eyes, though her opinion on the subject didn't matter. The eldest son was going to do whatever he wanted to do, nevermind the consequences.

"You're right, as always," the blonde relented, giving a bit of a smile. She started to head back out the hall, looking over her shoulder a few times to make sure Clayton was following behind her. While she loved her older sisters and younger brothers, the sibling that was currently with her was always her favorite. She hoped, deep down, that one day she would find a man just as brave and wonderful as her brother. When that would be, only time would tell.

The two of them continued on, with Arianna being careful not to bump into anything as they exited the servant's hall and Clayton watching her in a way that a mother cat watches her young. Eventually, the two of them made it to the teenager's room, the girl pausing at the door. She paused, turning to face her brother, since he seemed to tag along on her way back. Did he think that she wasn't going to notice? "I don't think anyone is going to be after me in my own room, brother." Her words came out half teasing, though for the most part, they were exasperated. After all, she did get tired of being watched as though she were still an infant! Her temper because evident, even though it was small, the girl opening her bedroom door in a huff and slamming it shut after she had entered.

"Don't even step through that door," she commented, in case that had been on her brother's mind. Arianna begun to discard her nightclothes, thankful that there had been a young servant girl that was changing her sheets, since she would now be roped into helping the youngest heiress into a clean attire. The major part that see needed help with was the corset itself, since it was nearly impossible for the petite blond to tighten it. Then can the bloomers, stockings, her dress, her hair being pinned into gentle curls; it was such an ordeal!

Was it wrong for being so excited for being in pretty clothes and traveling? Iris almost laughed out loud to herself, reminding herself that this happened every single time she left the Northern kingdom. Well, Iris, maybe this is why they don't take you traveling as often as you would like... She smirked at herself, dragging her hands up and down the sides of her jacket. The soft clicks of her hidden boots echoed down the long hallway as she tried to find her way to the main hall.

Iris couldn't keep her mind on anything but getting to the Neutral palace. So what if Aidan didn't ride in the carriage? He didn't like spending time with any of them anyways. He was always so distant with the rest of his family, and you could see it was intentional when you looked into those eyes of his. She wasn't paying attention, but she felt her feet come to a stop. "No," she thought out loud, "why would he want to ride with us? He hasn't before. He's just going to hop onto his horse and ride out..."
A sigh escaped her lips, shaking her head before the jingle of her jewels caught her attention. "Atreus's rings!" she exclaimed, covering her mouth to keep herself from calling out again before she turned on a heel, lifted her skirts a bit, and started down the hall in a slight run.

Now, the girl had a fine body and strong legs from trying to race Arowen when they were children, but she hardly had any speed. Her baby brother could run faster than her if he wanted to. But, she was able to run in heels which came in handy in situations like this. Brightly painted lips were parted to smile; Iris nearly giggling at the memories of when she and Arowen were children and how they raced all around the house. She missed how close they use to be, but he's a man now. He had responsibilities now, and she accepted the distance as long as they held onto memories.

The twenty one year old shook her red-head as she made it to her room where servants where taking out the last of her bags filled with clothes and other accessories. Iris gave a smile to the two that were leaving before she slipped in herself. She almost heard them finish their "good morning, princess", but she was too fast for them. The woman searched her counter top and drawers still she produced five gold rings, three of them covered in diamonds and other various precious stones while the pinky and thumb ring were solid gold. They looked beautiful in the light that was pouring into the Princess's room before she rose. Iris adjusted her skirts (a nasty habit of hers) one more time before speed walking over to where the servants were taking her clothes.

The shine of well-kept red hair brought the smile to the elder sister's lips. Her two youngest siblings didn't help with the good mood Iris was in, it just helped that they were getting along. Lucinda wasn't usually a morning person... "No need, brother, I'm here. Aidan said he'll be taking his horse, so we can leave without him." She lied, smiling at Atreus. "Are we to be off, my dears?"
