XXXXAs the ship pulled in to dock, Sage had a better view of who was already here. From what he could see, all three royal of Milinnia were on the docks talking to each other. There was another ship docked as well, but it was one Sage didn’t recognize so he couldn’t determine if it was the Castalia siblings or the prince of Zephyr. Oh well. I’ll find out soon enough. Aside from his fiancée possibly being on that ship, he wasn’t too concerned with who was on it. Sage was excited to be seeing the princess of Milinnia, Keishara. They always got along so well at the balls and spent much time talking together, even though her older brother, Verin, would always play overprotective brother and try to keep them apart. Although they were here to develop relationships with their fiancées, Sage really wanted to spend time making better friendships.

XXXXSage pulled away from his thoughts to take a look around the ship. It had been a little bit since he had called out for Nadia and she still hadn’t come to join him yet. ”She’s probably still in her quarters getting ready to meet everyone,” Sage said, thinking out loud. He had never understood why it took women so long to make themselves look nice. To him, women didn’t need all the face gunk, done-up hair, or extravagant clothes and jewelry; they just needed to have a beautiful personality. His little sister definitely had the wonderful personality, so he wished she didn’t have to get all gussied up.

XXXXBoth excited and sick of being on this ship, Sage decided to go ahead and get off the ship to speak with the arriving royals. He didn’t want his sister to worry though if she came up and couldn’t find him, so Sage ran to the passage that led down to the rooms and shouted, ”Nadia, I’m going onto the dock! Come join me when you’re ready!” With that said, Sage ran to the ramp that led off the ship and continued running until his feet were on the dock. He had this strong urge to fall to his knees and scream, ”LAND!!”, but thought that would be too dramatic, even though it was how he felt.

XXXXStraightening his shirt and jacket, Sage turned toward where the other royals were gathered and walked over to them, nodding courteously to the guards and maids along the way. Sage stopped in front of the sibling that were talking amongst themselves and said his greetings to everyone, starting with the eldest of them all, the prince of Milinnia. They were never the ones to get along so all Sage said to the prince was, ”Hello Verin,” followed by a curt nod. After Verin, Sage turned his attention towards Laiialwen, the middle child and eldest daughter. He knew because of her disability that she wouldn’t be able to see it, but Sage bowed politely to her like he would to any of the other princesses. ”It’s lovely to see you again Laiilwen. I hope your voyage here was safe and pleasant,” he greeted as he leaned back up. Last, but not least, there was, Keishara, the youngest princess.

XXXXGetting to see Keishara outside of the balls was one of the few upsides of having to stay on the Isle. Sage smiled at the young princess and spoke his final greetings to her. ”It’s so great to see you Keishara. Maybe our time here will not be as bad as I had been planning for.” As he did for her sister, Sage gave a low bow to Keishara; however, this time he took her hand in his and gave it a gentle kiss. Now, he knew that this wasn’t a good idea on his part seeing as how Verin was a very protective older brother; however, Sage didn’t always know where to draw the ling. It was also fun to irritate the easily irritable prince.

Assar Aron Hall
The One and Only Prince of Zephyr

"Our opinions does not matter, so let's just get it over with."

Arriving at the appointed island, Assar was not looking forward to this arranged marriage. A political marriage was bound to lack any actual feelings for each other. He would be lucky if his fiancée was someone he'd even get along with at all. But the fact that they were all given a chance to meet like this before marriages was at the least a chance for them all to at the very least become friends. Would at the least mean they would have some kind of bound, even if it wasn't anything beyond that. Oh how he had been praying that his fiancée was someone nice, calm and quiet. If she turned out being some rebellious loud mouth, this would not be a pleasant stay. But no matter what, suppose it was nice to get away from his parents for some time. After the incident while he was young, they had been quite overly protective of him. Oh, if they only knew half of what had happened after he went missing. But some things were just better not to speak about.

Taking a deep breath as he stepped ashore, he didn't really know the others very well. As mentioned, his parents had been overly protective, so he couldn't even remember the last time he had meet any of them, so to be honest, he was a little nervous. Even at this age his parents had been pretty protective of him. Mostly his mother, but his father had eased up a bit trough the years. But they were terrified of something happening and him disappearing again, even if he could fend for himself more than well enough by now. If anyone had heard and listened to the rumours, he had been mistaken for some street kid and still dared to stand up against the royal guards at the castle, demanding to see the king and queen and have them identify him. Took a lot of guts to do something like that. And according to the rumours, he had even threatened to cut them down and just force his way in if he had to. Whether it was true or not, only he and the guards and servants and his parents in Zephyr knew. He never really confirmed nor denied rumours gong around about him. He just didn't have the energy to bother about such things. If people wanted to believe in something, he'd just let them do so. Was up to them what they choose to believe and what they didn't believe.

Taking a glance around the docks, it wasn't hard to spot where the group was starting to gather. Even if it had been far too long, he at the least recognized some of them, a little bit, even if it was just barely, and of course, the fact that there were guards there was a give-away. So taking another deep breath, trying to brush off the nervous feeling as he started approaching the group, putting on a friendly smile as he stepped up to them, giving the group a bit of a bow, simply just showing some respect towards them, even if he knew for a fact that he was the oldest among them. But that didn't mean he had to be rude or stuck-up towards them. He wanted to at the very least be on friendly terms with them, or the stay here would not be pleasant.

tab "Greetings. It's a pleasure to meet you all. I'm Assar from the kingdom of Zephyr. It's been, quite some times since I meet any of you, so I'm sorry, but I can't really recall whom is whom. But I am looking forward to getting to know all of you while we are all here. I hope we all will get along well."

Might sound a bit formal, but he was nervous, so he couldn't help it. Was difficult to meet people he meet so long ago and couldn't even remember properly. He couldn't even recall the names on most of them, even less their faces. Besides, a lot had happened trough the years, so it was hard to remember everything and everyone, but hopefully he'd get to know them again. Would certainly be a huge bonus if they all managed to become good friends. Maybe if they became good friends, there would be no need for marriage for the sake of peace between the kingdoms, who knows? Suppose it was all left to find out. But even if they all would still get married, then friendship would be better than nothing. Just imagine being married to someone you can't stand for the rest of your life. Would be a nightmare.

But turning his attention to the two young elven women, he knew enough to know that one of them was his fiancée. He just wasn't sure whom. As he mentioned, he didn't really recall much about any of them.

tab "I'm sorry if I'm being a bit blunt, but which one of you are Keishara?"

He was lucky to know the name of his fiancée at the very least, but no clue which one of them it was, and he'd rather get to it to get to know his fiancée as soon as possible. He wanted to know as much as possible about her so that he'd know what to expect from her. And perhaps a chance to go somewhere shady to chit chat. He had been out on deck the entire trip here to avoid getting sea sick, and having "fair skin" as some liked to call it, he did tend to get sunburned easily. He had been lucky to avoid it so far, but he'd rather not take too many risks. He didn't want to end up looking like he had a permanent cold, or worse, look as if he was blushing nonstop. Was embarrassing when he got sunburned like that. And if he was really unlucky, he'd gain more freckles. He had enough as it was in his own opinion, so he'd rather not stay out in the open for too long. He have had enough for one day.

Grip squinted into the shadows of the hold. Blinking to adjust her eyesight, she swallowed a groan.
Should have brought a light, she thought, kicking herself. Even after three months of living in the same dull-sighted form she had yet to develop all those little adaptive habits that non-shifters need to survive.
In the darkness, something thudded. Grip froze, breath catching in her throat. Rats the size of cats, stow-away monsters and escaped merchandise flashed through her mind. Her skin suddenly felt as tight and as constricting as a net.
Or a noose, added the more morbid part of her brain.
"I should have thought that one through,"
A sigh flooded from between her teeth in a burst of air that ended on a tiny click as she slammed her jaws together.
"Son of a sniveling ********, Derk! Don't scare me like that." She cleared her throat, suddenly aware of the clammy sweat soaking her collar. "What happened to unloading our stuff, huh? I thought you were dead-set on carrying my armchair ashore."
A stray laugh skittered across her lips. The darkness had dissipated a little as her eyes grew accustomed to the gloom, but the walls of crates continued to creep closer in her peripheral vision.
I need to get out of here.
Pawing the air, she stumbled through the crowded space to where her brother stooped. With her own fright, she'd almost missed the dark undercurrent to his humor. She reached up to grip his shoulder, face caught in a reassuring grimace that flickered in and out. Her face all ready hurt, and she still had a contingent of royals to impress.
"Now c'mon," she tried, fumbling for words she didn't feel. "Don't go soft on me, old man. We can do this. Right?"
She winced as the question escaped her and drew a shaky breath.
"Right."
It still felt like a question--one she wasn't sure she wanted answered.

Ah, it was so nice to finally see his sisters. Even though it was short time, the distance made it feel as though ages had passed.

"Verin! I'm so glad you arrived safely!"

Arms instantly wrapped around the petite young girl, giving a comforting hug and brotherly smile; however, a small sign of concern gracing his features at the mention of the eldest of the two being sick. Eyes instantly raised to look over to Laiialwen, the dark-haired princess being escorted by the captain of the ship.

"I trust that your journey was much more kind to you, then I", he smiled and allowed her to finish before returning the hug.

”Kei,” he chuckled, patting Lai’s back affectionately. ”She behaved, huh? Well, I can’t half believe that” he said jokingly, even though it was true. The girl was adventurous and whereas he wished for them to be proper princesses and stay out of trouble, he knew all too well Kei wanted much more than a prim and proper life. How could he blame her. ”Well,” he sighed, giving a slight shrug before releasing the eldest from the embrace. ”Considering our parents are signing over our lives and rights, I expect you both to have as much fun as possible before you’re forced to bare those dreadful rings.” he smiled, winking over towards Kei. ”For now, ******** the rules.” and he meant it. Right now they were away from home, away from the rule of their parents and this might be the last time the girls would have the chance at fun before their roles as queens took over.

Verin’s attention was suddenly caught by a head full of fiery-red locks and a greeting from none other than the prince of all things slimy and fishy himself. Sage. Only a short moment of recognition was given before the thing from the deep continued onto his sisters. Of course. Verin watched disapprovingly, eyes narrowing as he spoke so kindly to Lai. Thank the heaven’s he was not to marry one of them; although he’d admit he’d probably prefer a damned mermaid over a demon or shape shifter any day. At least he enjoyed seafood.

It was when Sage took Kei’s hand and leaned down to kiss it, that Verin immediately stepped over and shoved his way in-between the two, fingers pressing into Sage’s chest and forcing the other male to take a couple of steps back. ”Sage! How lovely of them to fish you out of the sea; however, it might take a few days on land to rid of that awful stench, ugh.” he rested his eyes, hand waving in front of his nose as if there was a foul lingering odor bothering him. ”Ah, unless that wreak is your natural scent, hmm? If that’s the case, I hope your sister smells a little more decent since we’ll be sharing a bed.” he smirked, chuckling a bit.

”Greetings. It’s a pleasure to meet you all-” ah, enough picking on Sage for the moment. The demon finally present himself, standing there and being as polite as possible. Even looking forward to getting along with everyone and making friend!? How cute. ”I’m sorry if I’m being a bit blunt, but which one of you are Keishara?”

”Oh, hunny, how are you?” Verin chimed, stepping over and grabbing a hold of Assar’s hand, shaking it rather violently. ”I’m princess Keishara, how lovely to finally meet my future hubby, why don’t you go ahead and show me to our room, hmmm” he joked, mocking Kei’s girly voice. He knew his sister would step in and take over, but he could try to avoid their meeting at least.

The nerves! They were all a jumbled mess that washed over her, had the princess pacing, and dying to be in the sea again. Confined to such a small space with so many individuals, with heightened emotions, and lastly on a land dweller's legs! It was all but enough to drive her crazy. So crazy it lead her to steal to the seas for a moment of soothing calm. It was a direct violation of the commands her parents had given but since they were there and Nadia had no plans to run away she didn't see the harm to it. Poor Sage would have done well to do the same thing but he was more so obedient to orders than she ever was. Feeling the shift in speed of the ship the peace of the seas had come to a close. It was time to reboard and quickly get prepared to meet new faces. Slipping back onboard would have been much harder if she'd not coaxed the servants to aid her.

Once on board and within the enclosed room she'd hurriedly try to dry her fin, turned legs while the aid of a servant girl tried to dry her sea toss hair. Nadia would surely receive a chastening from her sibling if he learned of her wayward ways and the potential for danger that could have lead to. Hearing the call of her brother had a moment of regret for dashing into the water but that was quickly pushed aside to the centering it had brought. "Hurry Una! We can't leave Sage to his own devices with the others." there was a hint of amusement when those words were spoken. It wasn't that she believed Sage would harm anyone it was more his playful personality and the reaction others had to him at times. "Coming! Just a moment Sage" shouted the princess from behind closed doors.

Truly she didn't want to be late, more so, because she wasn't as steady on her land-dwelling legs as he was and she was sure to embarrass herself if she wasn't at his side. Una was very efficient and hustling to get the gown ready but at the approach looked rather hesitant . "My Lady...." though the servant didn't finish her words but merely gestured at her body Nadia was able to realize the conundrum that presented itself. The dress her parents picked out would only become ruined with the sea salt droplets of water still upon her body, with her damp skill the fabric would additionally cling to her skin rather than drape appropriately. Drats! The booming sound of her brother's clearly desperate voice made Nadia grow rather frustrated or more so panic.

Feelings of abandonment quickly surfaced but Nadia squashed those down. He wasn't leaving her behind. It was her own foolish choices that was causing her to keep the Prince behind and he had to keep face before the other royals. A soft sigh escaped at this thought. Already the royals were stealing him away. No longer able to wait the droplets of water that dripped along her porcelain skin would be manipulated into lovely threads which would weave and intertwine with one another till a gown would form as a second skin to clothed her once naked form. This time Naida might be showing off a little when including a gorgeous ice train but it was similar to the train on the dress her parents required her to wear to this ridiculous royal function to portray her royal status. With dress taken care of to to Una's approval, shoes, then hair would be next. Una would be swift about it, gathering her long raven blue tinted curls and twisting them up in a loose french twist before pinning it. The make up would be too much work and Nadia didn't see the sense in it she was already late. "Thanks Una I better hurry or Sage will be long gone before I catch up." with a kiss of gratitude to the servant girl she'd let her place on the royal circlet then off she'd "try" to dash to catch up with Sage.

Obviously walking in heels was a little more daunting than expected. Though a rather graceful creature on sea, land was another thing, and could clearly be seen as she struggled initially and had to use a railing. Soon getting the hang of it and nearing the end of the railing so to speak Nadia would have to trust herself in stepping off the vessel and to dry land. What a difference. The stable land actually did make walking a little more simple that Nadia forgot to take precaution...more so when seeing Sage just up ahead and excitement rose. He was talking with strangers...by their mannerism clearly royals. While appropriate Nadia would reach out to her brother sending a feeling a warmth and calm a sure sign that she was appropriating him from the rear as to not startle him but also indicate her presence. This was a natural occurance whenever she was near him.

Unfortunately just as Nadia might have been enjoying the walk on legs disaster would strike when her heel caught on the dress she fashioned and down she went. With the frantic beating of her arms to try and capture something at least it would give her balance before throwing her right off it once more to crash onto her knees. Nadia could only keep still and blush in pure mortification that she'd not only embarrassed herself but humiliated her kingdom with a less than graceful entrance right in front of the royals. The only prayer that she'd uttered was that her soon to be husband was not in the mix. What type of woman would he think he was marrying if he just saw her unbecoming mistake. Fearing what would happen if she tried to stand on her own again, Nadia would simple resign herself to a fate of having to wait for Sage to help her up, and hopefully making up for this shame.

"Yeah...sure..." Derk sighed softly as his sister's hand gripped his shoulder. Her presence had always helped to sooth his worries in the past, but today they just seemed to spark new ones. She was engaged as well. To the Prince of Seresada, Sage Antaeus. It could have been worse, he had to remind himself constantly. From his memories, Sage was a pretty nice, funny guy. Now he just needed to make sure he treated Agrippa well if he didn't want his head chewed off.

Before she could ask him what he was so worried about, he turned his attention to the chair sitting by the stairs and said, "I'll go get your chair." Careful to stay stooped, he shuffled through the hull, only stubbing his toe once. When he finally got to his sister's favorite arm chair that she simply could not part with for the journey, he took an arm in each hand and gripped tightly, hoisting it into the air and hauling it up the stairs.

The sunlight was nearly blinding after spending so much time in the darkness. Thankfully, his eyes adjusted after a handful of blinks. His stomach did a flip at the sight, though. While the Isle was undeniably beautiful, he could see the other royal ships nearby and a gathering of people just on shore. 'That must be them...' he thought feeling sick again.

All he wanted to do was let Agrippa lead them to their fates, but this time it was important that he looked at least a little in charge. He was supposed to be a King someday. It was crucial he looked confident. That's what Uncle had told him in confidence at least. Odd parting words from a family member, he knew, but that's what he'd gotten used to growing up. So, instead of calling for her, he took a deep breath and boarded the dock.

Unfortunately, it didn't really occur to him how much like a servant he must have looked lugging his sister's arm chair down the dock with him, so when he finally got to the group of other royals, he was sufficiently sweaty and huffing for breath. He let the musty thing down with relief and straightened to his full height of almost seven feet, basically towering over everyone else. With fist over his heart, he gave a curt bow to the others, a gender-neutral sign of respect in Castalia. "I'm glad to see you've all arrived safely."

Keishara chuckled nervously, knowing her brother wouldn't believe her being mischief free for more than five minutes, but it was nice that her sister tried to cover it up for her. As she awaited her brother to say something slightly negative about it, but her expression lightened up when he didn't. He understood how she felt about this and how she wanted to explore her freedom before she had to be forced to settle down with a man she didn't even know. She smiled at her older brother and gave him a light kiss on the cheek, a thank you for understanding. Before she could say anything to him, she caught sight of a familiar male that instantly brought a brighter smile to her face. It's been a good while since she's seen him!

"Sage, it's so great to see you again. I really hope you and your sister have been doing well since the last time we've met" Keishara really had no issues with him kissing her hand and was going to let him but naturally her brother interfered with that. There was no way he was going to let that happen and she knew he wasn't very fond of Sage to begin with. If anything she just found it annoying and his comments were rude! They weren't surprising but it didn't mean she approved of the way he spoke to Sage. "Verin! There is no need for that type of talk, you had no reason to be so rude and vulgar to him." she stated with a frown and crossed her arms. Was there really any point in scolding him about it? She could do that until she was blue in the face but it wouldn't make much of a difference when it came to him anyway. While he was distracted with Sage, she noticed a new face approached and greeted him as well, he seemed nice enough and he just so happened to be looking for her.

Unfortunately she didn't get the chance to tell him since her brother intervened with that too! He just would not let another guy anywhere near her and that alone was frustrating, though his little impression of her was quite funny. "Oh brother that's enough of that. Hello, i'm Keishara Bharaclaiev and that is my brother Verin and my sister Laiialwen. Since you are looking for me I assume that you are my husband to be? It's nice to make your acquaintance Assar." She was being as polite as she could be but the thought of marriage so soon was making her stomach churn, she didn't want to do this but she was hopeful that her and this man would get along well for the most part. As she looked around she saw many new faces arriving and by now she was sure everyone was here, she even noticed Sage's sister trip and could only imagine how embarrassing that must have been for her. She would have quickly went over there and helped but from the looks of it she was sure Sage would have handled it. "Laii...try to get brother to behave for at least a few minutes please.."

XXXXThere was suddenly a force pushing against Sage’s chest, causing him to have to take a few steps back from where he stood in front of Keishara. It was no surprise to Sage that the culprit was none other than Verin. He knew very well that his affectionate greeting would irk the elven prince and cause Verin to step in as overprotective brother. He had always intervened whenever Sage and Keishara wandered off at the balls to talk and spend time alone. Needless to say, Sage wasn’t quite on good terms with the other prince since he would continue the friendly relationship with Keishara every year. It became an annual thing for the three of them; Sage and Keishara would have a nice time together and Verin would come in to break it up.

XXXXSage chuckled as Keishara lectured her brother for his rather rude comments. To be honest, they didn’t really phase Sage anymore, they just gave him more ammunition to annoy Verin and occasionally made him laugh. ”Oh it’s okay darling,” Sage said to Keishara as he reached up and stroked her cheek. ”Don’t fret so much over him. It’ll only cause frown lines on that beautiful face of yours.” As Sage finished his sentence another male voice emitted from behind him. From the new man’s introduction, he was the demon prince from Zephyr and Keishara’s fiancée.

XXXXAs Verin acted like his jerky self to the newcomer with Keishara going to, once again, break up her brother’s teasing; Sage noticed his sister was finally descending from the ship. She was a vision in her shimmering gown and Sage expected no less from his gorgeous sister. It stopped his heard and made him cringe when Nadia tripped on the dock. Rushing past everyone around them, Sage went to Nadia’s side and picked her up, bridal style, into his arms. He hated to hinder her and make her look weak; however, Sage knew that his little sister still didn’t have full control over her land legs and it would only embarrass her more if he had allowed her to try to stand on her own. ”Good for you to finally join us sis,” he teased good heartedly as he carried her back over to where the others were congregating. He set his sister gently down on her feet and held her for a second as she steadied herself before letting her go. Being the protective brother was something Sage did have in common with Verin and was one of the few things he respected about him.

XXXXWhen Sage knew Nadia would be okay on her feet, he turned his attention to Verin in front of them. The comment about his sister hadn’t slipped past him and it caused a bit of a scowl to form on Sage’s lips. ”The smell of the sea shouldn’t bother you Verin. I just feel bad for my sister having to smell your soiled a**.” Sage felt bad for using foul language in front of his baby sister, yet he was too irked by Verin’s earlier comment to watch his mouth.

"Boo" a voice suddenly chirped, Okko leaning in closely enough that his cheek brushed quite gently against the nosey little maid that sat upon the window sill. A soft smile graced his face, steady hand taking ahold of her shoulder so to make sure she didn't stumble off the edge in case he did startle her. After all, she looked as though she was off fantasizing again. What an imaginative little mind the shifter possessed. "Hello Evangeline" the fire's voice cooed, releasing his grip upon her when he was sure she wouldn't go falling out the window.

"Now look at you over here, slacking off when there's work to be done." he scolded her, though it was obviously all in good fun. Okko considered Eva to be quite a good friend and he knew well how hard a worker she was even if at times a bit clumsy. "But instead I come up here to find you spying upon their arrival, silly girl." he chuckled, giving a small pat upon there back.

In all honesty, now that the prince and princesses were here, all the employees in this castle would be up to their shoulders in work. Which meant his kitchen was going to be an absolute mess. Okko leaned against the window frame, arms crossing over his chest as he looked down at the docks. Seemed the lot of them were already off the ship and he could also see their friend Noa down there with her men standing at attention. "I wonder what type of foods they enjoy." he thought curiously out-loud, almost looking forward to the challenge. The chef didn't mind the over-load of work as long as his cooking could make someone smile then he could go on for hours on end without the stove cooling down.

"Hmm.." eyes shifted, smile again falling upon Evangeline and the broom at her side. "Tell me, Eva, were you dancing with that stick again?" he teased, having before caught her in the act. It was quite adorable to see her play pretend in such ways. Matter of fact he admired her dreamer personality.

Taking the broom from her possession, he sat it against the wall and then pulled her off the window sill to stand. Eva's left hand was placed upon his shoulder, her right held comfortably in his own and then he grabbed her waist with his other and pulled her petite body in closer towards him. "I'm not trying to toot my own horn or anything, but I'm quite confident in my skills as a dance partner. I believe I might give your dull ol’ stick a run for its money." he huffed, guiding her gently to move along with him as he began to sway back and forth, twirling the two of them about. He had learned long ago the art of ballroom dancing and by this point was a grand fan.

”Let us remember,” he began as the two of them moved gracefully, Okko stepping upon his feet as light as a feather. ”This treaty is very important. Things might turn out for the worse, but Eva we play an important role here. You, I and the other workers. It’s not fair that they should be forced to marry one another… Especially if it doesn’t turn out like the story-book ending I’m sure you’re hoping to witness” he smiled gently down upon her. ”But we still must try our best to qualm any troubles that may arise within their stay here. If this treaty shall fail, many lives will be negatively affected. Some even tragically.” and Okko felt strongly about the situation. It wasn’t fair to break out in war. The people would be the ones to suffer, not the rich.

With a small gesture of his arm, he sent the girl twirling out and then pulled her back in, arm wrapping around her back so that he could dip her before lifting her back to both feet and letting her free. ”Now,” he smiled stepping over to grab the broom and handing it back to her. ”I might not be the best, but don’t you dare let this stick in the mud sweep you away.” he wasn’t the best with jokes, but he could be quite the charmer.

”After you’re done with your chores, perhaps you can help me in the kitchen later?”

Laii smiled as her elder brother returned her hug and released her, gently patting her back. Her eyes instinctively widened as Verin commanded the two of them to "******** the rules" "Verin!" She breathed "Surly you jest!"Goodness! Her elder brother was already plotting trouble and causing it. She blinked as they were joined by Sage, the prince of Seresada. She gave the mer man a small polite smile and curtsied to him as he greeted her. Her ear twitched as he greeted her younger sister with a kiss on the back of her hand. She found herself instinctively feeling a touch jealous of her younger sister. So this was the reward to having built friendships, a kiss on the hand. How lovely. Her elder brother didn't see it that way. She could already feel the heat of Verin's boiling anger. Then they were joined by Assar, the demonic prince of Zephyr and future husband of her little sister. Her blind silver eyes rested on the man as she properly curtsied to him as well.

Uhg. She felt her own anger begin to boil as Verin saw fit to insult both of the gentlemen. First insulting Sage's scent, of which she on the other hand found quite pleasant. But her shy nature kept her at bay, for a moment she felt as if she had suddenly turned invisible as tempers flared. 'I may as well not have come..' She thought bitterly. Her anger boiled more as Verin then pretended to be their younger sister, greeting Prince Assar. Laii held her head with a thin hand, massaging her aching temples with the thin tips of her soft fingers a short sigh escaping her lips. Her brother seemed content in causing trouble as per usual. She groaned as her stomach threatened to once again spew it's contents. She was about to walk away and hide in her quarters, but she was prematurely stopped by Keishara suddenly including her into the conversation, asking her to control Verin. Uhg. Her eyebrow twitched with anger. Just what was she supposed to do? Verin was like a wild horse, he would not be tamed.

But, she supposed Keisha was correct, she being the most mature had to get a handle on the situation before it spiraled out of control and this attempt at peace died before it began. She drew in a deep breath. 'Come on Laii! Speak!' Her brain commanded. But she found her tongue refused to move. 'Come now! Be brave! Don't let your shy nature overcome you! Don't allow your brother to inadvertently cause a war! War mean death! SPEAK!' She gathered all of her courage and at last her voice escaped her lips. "VERIN!" She shouted boiling with anger. She drew in another breath calming herself. "Please! If we are all to become family and keep the peace, it would be for the best we don't start fights with the other royals." She gently tugged on the sleeve of his shirt. "Please." She begged. "Let's try to get along with one another, yes?" She then turned to Sage and Assar. "Prince Sage, and Assar. I humbly apologize for my elder brother's actions." She curtsied low bowing her head. "He is most protective of I and Keishara. And i fear he found your coupled actions to be a threat. Which I'm sure was not the case. And while his intentions are nobel, I fear he did not realize that his actions could potentially put us in danger. " She re-erected herself. "I will do my best to see he does not cause any more trouble. And I hope that we can all at the very least become friends despite all of my brother's actions and harsh words."

Well now, that was a first! She was actually talking to others! Who would have thought it would be her elder brothers mischief to help her break out of her shy shell. Her ear twitched as more joined them this was becoming a bit overwhelming.. All of these new voices, sounds. She found herself overwhelmed, and drowning in it. She stumbled her face turning pale. It was too much for her to handle. She leaned heavily against Verin, her body a breath away from fainting.

Odell Planter did not like change. She did not like being hassled. And, above all, she did not like being told how to do her job.

When she had been given the assignment of making the garden more beautiful, it was a bit of an understatement to say she had been offended. This garden was detestably, mostly from her, the most beautiful place on the whole Isle. More than enough veggies of all variations in neat little rows stretched behind her hut, not a weed in sight. Watermelon, apple trees, grape vines, potatoes, carrots, every type of herb! No other castle probably anywhere ever could boast so much variety. But apparently the flowers weren't creative enough.

For the last week she'd obsessively worked every night in the garden, urging them into massive blooms that weighed down the vines in the arbors and perfectly thick hedges for ultimate privacy. It was certainly a sight to behold the massive shrub sculptures of exotic animals. She'd even arranged the flowers into the royal family crests. By day, though, she was forced to labor like a normal person. So she mucked out the last of the ponds furiously.

That's when she heard the sounds of conflict on the beach. Nimble as ever, she scaled halfway up a tree to peer over a hedge. Sure enough, the royals were all down there. And there was something going on between everybody that got one of the women riled enough to yell. Interesting. They hadn't even finished moving in and they were bickering. Typical noble behavior in Odie's opinion. She dropped down and pushed the wheelbarrow of compost to its home with some effort and quickly took to the kitchen to report the newest gossip.

It was currently empty, but she knew that was temporary. Okko could never stay away long. So she took the liberty of finding a mug, filling it promptly with ale and bringing it back to her favorite seat at the table.

"I don't have much to say
There's nothing in this name
Sorry to disappoint again
Nobody pines for the listener
A thrill I've failed to deliver"

Silently the little maid watched as slowly more and more of the royals gathered. It was at times like these she was glad she had good earring. These white fluffy ears had to be good for something. She listened as they introduced themselves and slowly found herself mesmerized as the Princesses seem to match her expectations in appearance. "All gorgeous ladies. Wouldn't expect anything less." she mumbled quietly to herself. However, it was as the elven prince introduced himself as a princess that she froze a little bit. Her tail twitched slightly in confusion. Wait it couldn't be could it? She listened as his sisters scolded him and suddenly her imagination took flight. Could he possibly not like women? Oh dear, that certainly would cause a problem with the arranged marriage bit. Perhaps, that's why he seemed rather sharp in his remarks. Did he already have a lover back home? Well perhaps he could always use the bride as a cover. That wouldn't be very fair to her though.

A quiet voice broke Evangeline out of her thoughts as a light squeak escaped her lips. Hello ground and falling. A steady shoulder held her back as she felt her arms began to flail and her her heart stop for a second. Okko. Blue eyes traveled to source of the voice and a playful smile replaced the panic. "Hello Okko!" she cheered as she slowly turned herself around on the windowsill to face him. "Thanks for both simultaneously scaring me and saving me at the same time." The girl giggled slightly before sticking her tongue. Okko was a good friend and one she had known for quite a while. His snacks always made her day better.

Eva blushed slightly as he playfully scolded her. Looks like she had been caught red handed. "I'm just curious about them is all," she defended. "I've never seen royals before and they're so much more glamorous then I would have thought." The girl's white ears drooped slightly as she pouted a bit. This was all because she stuck on the Isle. Never leaving and never seeing the rest of the world. Not that she didn't like it here. It was her home. But there are times when the world begs you to see it and all you can do is read about it in books.

Okko's voice brought the girl out of her thoughts once again as slowly the girl moved her eyes to study her friend. He was wondering about the food. Just like a cook to think about that at a time like this. "I'm sure whatever you cook for them, they'll love!" she encouraged before giving him her biggest, toothiest grin. This however didn't last long as he smiled back and discussed her previous dance partner. Dang it. She really should stop doing that on the job. Its not her fault she was a romantic! Evangeline blushed profusely before opening her mouth to justify her actions. Her words, however, didn't come out as she watched her broom be taken and put elsewhere and she be suddenly waltzing around the hallway with the cook. Well that was unexpected.

Eva listened quietly as her friend discussed his previous experiences and laughed a little as he declared himself better than her broom. "Be careful not to insult my 'dull ol stick' too much sir." she joked, "He might not be as good as you but he has been my dance partner, prince charming, and weapon of choice on occasion." It was times like these that made living in the castle a bit more exciting. She had her second family here and while some of the staff found her dreaming like habits to be a bit odd, others embraced it and sometimes went along with it.

Gently Eva moved around with her partner. Her hours of practice making her light on her feet and manageable to move around. She once again listened as the conversation took a serious tone and she was being reminded of the present. She gave a solid nod before her mind traced back to the conversation she had peeped on outside. "This could be more of a difficult task than I thought since the storybooks made it seem like love at first sight was common. I'm not a love doctor but perhaps if trouble does arise I could..." She froze in her tracks as she thought about the elven prince. Not good. Glancing up and down the hall, the girl quietly reached up and whispered politely in Okko's ear. "Okko, I think one of the prince's might not fancy women." This was not good if this was the case. Anyone can live the life they choose and such but in a situation like this it might be detrimental. She hoped the poor soul would be okay with so many women present at the occasion. Time would only tell.

Evangeline finished her dance with a dip that sent small butterflies running around in her stomach and laughed at her friend's joke and having her broom back. He really did have most of the women staff swooning no doubt. She was just some awkward cat girl with a broom so she would have to wait till later to swoon. Don't want to embarrass herself and let him see her and all. The girl hugged her broom closely before happily nodding to his question. "I'll stay clear of the fine china this time and follow instructions just like how you want me to." she stated. Giving a small salute before giggling mostly to herself, Eva thought of the adventure the following weeks might hold. What a time to be alive.

Assar Aron Hall
The One and Only Prince of Zephyr

"Our opinions does not matter, so let's just get it over with."

He was a bit taken by surprise as the prince started messing with him, shaking his hands in such a childish manner and speaking like a fool, obviously mocking him, and honestly, he was having a difficult time to hold back drawing his weapons at the moment. He really did not appreciate being mocked, even less by someone younger than him. Even if he wasn't showing it physically, you could really feel the anger radiating off him at the moment as the prince was mocking him. If it wasn't for the princesses being there, he might actually have snapped at the prince for behaving in such a manner.

Taking his focus away from the annoying prince though and instead focusing on the princesses, he looked at the one whom had confirmed she was Keishara, the anger seeming to fade quite quickly as he gave her a friendly smile and a bit of a bow.

tab "It's a pleasure to meet you princess Kaishara. And yes, that would be me. I don't doubt that there are mixed feelings about this arrangement and all, but I'm willing to give it a try and make the best of it if you are."

With that he of course meant that they should try be friends at the very least. He was certain they had at the least something in common that they could share. And turning his attention tot he other princess, he gave her a smile as well, even if he was quick to notice that she appeared to be blind. even with her gaze turned the right way, her eyes were unfocused and all. Honestly it was a bit of a shame that he wasn't to marry her. Would be more easy to hide a body full of scars from someone who's blind. Besides, he did kind of like her way of speaking. The way someone speaks shows a bit of their personality. Somehow he had a feeling they were much more alike. But he'd just suck it up and not mention any of that. Besides, he was certain that his fiancée had her charms as well. He just had to get to know her first.

tab "Don't worry about it princess. There are no hard feelings. Besides, if he's that eager to join me, perhaps I'll show him my room once I know where it is myself? He certainly has a certain kind of charm. So won't you come join me in my room later, honey?"

The fact that he was looking at Verin with a cheerful but smug grin, shows that he could mess with people as well, and somehow, he had a feeling that this was not going to be the end of it. He just had the feeling that he'd have a very difficult time to get along with Verin. The way he had behaved when he had first introduced himself was proof enough that they would probably be at each others throats a lot during their stay here.

But joking aside, he turned his focus back to his fiancée, since he supposed he'd better focus on her and get to know her better before getting to know the others. And there was no harm in getting a head start.

tab "Well, joking aside, I am looking forward to getting to know you better princess. As we obviously will have plenty of time on our hands, I really do want to find out as much about you as possible, so don't feel a need to hold back if there are things you wish me to know about you. I'm eager to listen."

Really wasn't much of interest for him to tell her really. If she asked about the rumours that has been circling around about him, he would do as he always did, refuse to answer. So if there was anything she wished to know about him, the most she would get out of him would probably be interests and such plain and boring stuff.

"Yeah . . . sure . . ." Derk sighed, his muscles tense under her palm. She let her hand drop.
"I'll go get your chair," he said, finally breaking the awkward silence she'd been afraid to touch. Shuffling away from her, he picked up her old armchair as if it weighed no more than her notes.
"My notes!" she muttered. She found the chest lodged between two larger crates and severely dented. Hissing to herself, she settled it on one shoulder and escaped the belly of the ship.
I need to talk with Derk about hiding in holes. Make sure he doesn't make a habit out of it.
As she passed, a couple of sailors stirred lazily, as if considering helping the princess. She eyed each of them until they turned away again, hunching their shoulders or crossing their arms uncomfortably. I know one of you damaged my notes box!
Setting the chest on top of her luggage, she steadied it before looking around for her brother. When she spotted him, her heart dropped a handspan and she felt her lips jerk down. My notes, she thought, before realizing how ridiculous she would look hiding behind a massive tome of pinned-together parchment. Pacing a little nearer to the gathering, she rose to her tiptoes: red hair glinted in the sunlight. Her heart spasmed, jerking up to stick in her throat as her stomach twisted in place.
Sage.
It was too late to go back and retrieve her notes now--surely they'd noticed her approach. She tried to breathe regularly, forcing her legs to move normally, willing herself not to choke or feint or throw up. Blonde hair whipped past her eyes, taunting her. Catching it, she twisted it into a long rope before removing her scarf from her belt and ramming it down over her head, knotting it to one side of her chin. By the time she'd finished this routine, her fingers had almost stopped shaking.
I am being ridiculous. Utterly, unforgivably frivolous and--and--goose-like!
She slammed her teeth together so hard they hurt.
I am huge, a bear-like man with a mane of black hair and skin like leather. I eat princes for breakfast and marry princesses for lunch, and I can do this! I can do--
She looked up into the faces of four royal lines.
". . . about you. I'm eager to listen."
Glancing over, she saw her brother standing awkwardly next to her armchair and felt a smile tug at her face. She looped her arm through his, she offered the assembled royalty her own small bow.
She lifted her chin.
"I see I've come late to the party. What a pleasure to finally have us all in one place." She nodded to the unfamiliar young man who'd been speaking. "Prince of Zephyr, I presume? I haven't missed the introductions, have I?"

If Derk had managed to convince himself he was confident on the walk over, he was completely deflated now. Like a horror movie, he went almost completely unnoticed by the others because they were so busy squabbling among themselves. Sage was taunting Verin, Assar was being offended, and Verin was just being his typical self. Laiialwen completely broke character from what Derk had remembered and freaked out at her brother.

So, he did the only thing he knew how to do and stood there like a fly on the wall wishing he could just melt into the ground.

What a relief it was to feel his sister's arm snake through his. He had been so enthralled with the dramatics going on in front of him that he had hardly even notice the blonde young man join them. Derk sighed quite obviously. Agrippa was always much better at these kinds of things.

Looking around the group, he realized for the first time that Laiialwen was being supported by her brother, looking even paler than usual. Although all this commotion was not really his fault, he felt a twinge of guilt. Not daring to intercept her from her quite unpredictable brother, he finally spoke up after his sister. "Princess Laiialwen, would you like to go up to our room? I'm sure it's much cooler inside. Myself...and Verin of course, could take you."
