++++Generic Mecha Roleplay+++++

Story so Far

It is 2250, humanity has lost many of its steps due to war, but with the Lunesian Faction it seeks to find solitude in its wrong years. Every family that once was punished with war now strives in prosperity and harmony with the Earth Nation and Lunesians rule.

The war that took 120 years to finish now reaches its 10th year in progress for peace. With the Lunesian Laws, the Earth Nations and Lunesia have made peace for this long. It is a grand accomplishment for the many times which peace has failed. Peace however maintains a shaky situation, those involved in the war try to forget about it while others no longer wish to speak about it. With each passing year though the troubles of the past are forgotten, it is the hopes that this is maintained into the future.

Pilots Today

As a pilot of the Lunesian Space Forces, each pilot is given a name and an identification card, when they first enter the army. Pilots are conscripted in poor areas, while rich pilots are allowed or often enlisted by choice. There isn't a lot of prestige or honor unlike the former years, nowadays pilots act as police officers or simple guards to an armory to block the weak forces that wish to stop the Lunesian Laws being further enacted.

The Lunesians now battle pirates and forces which are still loyal to the former two factions, with the elimination of these remnant the only way for peace is to remove the obstacles ahead. For this the need for part time volunteers seems more common than actual devotion. Its common that some pilots never get to see a fight let alone participate in a battle, because the lack of opponents are so few most don't even get to use a unit.

The Knight Project

It was during the war that Knights were made in such quantities, epic battles were caused. With both factions not used to using them, Knights caused widespread damage against ships and stations alike, their flexibility and the NEURO-CIRCUIT which allows a pilot to use their mind to control the Knight became the evolution of war.

During the Lunesian Laws, it was written to outlaw such magnificent machines due to the fact that they had such a horrible impact on the casualty rate. Those who piloted the early machines often went mad with fury, the NEURO-CIRCUIT causing widespread neurological damage upon the pilots mind itself. After a while they also omitted AI units as well. These two factors alone caused enough casualties more than fleets themselves, primarily because the early units had no limiters that stopped a pilot from going completely insane.

Knight Units were scrapped or thrown into planets such as Uranus for disposal. Saturn often housed the many wrecks of units that were beyond the reach of human hands. It was alslo decided that the machines were too powerful for factions to hold and to create chaos with. Such laws were reinforced to ensure not even another machine would be built again.

The Lunesian Laws allowed Mass Production units with rules instead. These weaker units known as the N-00, designed to be for general used replaced a majority of the obsolete fighters and a majority of forces use them today.

++++Welcome and Please Read this First++++

Um basically this has been the latest in a long string of attempts to find the perfect balance of a Mecha roleplay which allows a player to do a lot of options. Its mostly a roleplay which also uses the dice for combat to make things fair on everyone else.

I almost forgot, welcome to this roleplay! I'm not too good on introductions but generally this roleplay is about super robots and mecha. It is also partially a factional and everything evolves as your character progresses through the roleplay. As a few notes:

1. Your character can do any action if he can. He cannot control other story NPCs or magically conjure stuff. He has to get it somewhere in the roleplay.

2. Your character can die by consent only. Or being killed through impossible escape

3. The roleplay uses combat and other stuff for dice. Its a bit tedious but easier to determine hits and such. Once you get used to this the roleplay should be easy to understand.

The problem with roleplays like this is that I will get taxed out really quickly. Its quite painful at times posting for a lot of people, so please understand I may be a bit squiggly from some point to another, but it happens after a prolonged period of time.

++++Factions:++++

There is one faction in GMR.

Lunesia: The most powerful faction in GMR as of now. It is the power of all people under the colonies and Earth. Lunesia controls most of the Solar System. All players fall under this category until Lunesia breaks or faces a new enemy. For now though it is the representation of all nations and colonists in the entire roleplay.

Sub-Factions

Pirates: Remnants of the old factions, many pilots who refused to give up their older weapons now roam space as marauders who have no reason.

ABILITY: I fill this in, you get an ability randomized well....not really, I determine it from your history.

Ability: Can range from having some special armor on your pilot or to have some means to have some sort of extra roll. This depends entirely on your history. Remember that some players may get better abilities than others, this is because I completely randomize this when it comes to decision making.

Unit Application (Only used when proposing new units for the roleplay, or when your faction allows you to make your own) Every player starts off in an MP unit, so do not use this when applying.

Resistances: Add 10 points to these three resistances.

Kinetic Barriers:
Beam Coating:
Structural Hull:

++++Stats and You++++

Physical Force: Affects the unit's dice rolls for melee, adds one dice for every +
Mobility: Adds one dice for every mobility +
Ranged Targetting: Adds one dice for ranged weapons rolls
Armor Plating: Adds 4 HP for every +

Pilot skills are used in the same way, but add a hard minimum to rolls.

Resilience affects the pilot's HP outside a unit.

++++Rolling in Combat++++

When you encounter an enemy you need to fight them with something. The weapon in your hand has the damage but you have to be the one to swing it. In this case the roleplay relies on rolls to hit and dodge.

A post usually goes like this:

Attack Post + Roll

You swing your weapon and roll the number of dice equivalent to your stat you are using, to know how many dice you have, count the number of dice your unit has by +

Now we have to dodge this attack!

Dodge Roll:

When you dodge you post a roll and thats it. No need to make a post to dodge right now, the outcome of this roll determines what damage your character takes if it gets hit. If it doesn't you can post you dodged and proceed to make a roll for an attack. If you didn't you have to say you were hit.

Then we go back to the first phase. This keeps going on until one party is defeated or is disabled.

++++Terrain Combat++++

When you use something as cover, you don't need to make a dodge roll, you can simply say the hit damages the cover instead. Some debris like battleships or mountains will block shots if used properly. Fighting in Urban areas guarantees you'll have some defense through buildings.

You cannot instantly use buildings and mountains to block, you must initially be behind cover to utilize it, you cannot be shot and suddenly fly towards cover to have the shot nullified. Some weapons such as Beam Cannons and heavier weapons completely ignore cover.

++++Weapons and Armor Stats++++

++++Damage and Health++++

Armor Plating adds 4 HP to your unit but there is also the factor of Armor Resistances.

Each Resistance subtracts damage by one for every point

Usually a machine will have 20 HP with no bonuses. Resistances help block 10 damage weapons and melee..

++++Weapons++++

Weapons have damage, for a small pistol the damage might be small but it can be fired multiple times. Bigger cannons and sniper rifles need to be reloaded to fire again per post. Some weapons give the unit a bonus though, so be sure to equip the right weapon for the right situation.

There are four types of weapon damage:

Kinetic: Bullets, Shrapnel and Explosions.
Beam: Beam, Laser Weapons
Electromagnetic: Electricity, Lightning
Heat: Thermal, Cold and Molten
Hybrid: A mixture of the four above

Kinetic is blocked by Kinetic Barriers, Beam by Beam Coating and Electromagnetic and Heat from the Hull. Hybrid weapons tend to use two resistances to block it, while making sure it does damage, also has the possibility of being blocked by a jack-of-all trades machine.

Melee:

One must close in or engage in close quarters to use melee weapons.

Even though rolls make determining hits easier, note the placement of your weapon if it gets stuck or is being blocked by a beam saber or a shield. Ranged weapons use melee rolls when in close range.

Melee Weapons ignore Resistances

Ranged:

Ranged weapons are easy to handle, they fire at long distances and can hit multiple enemies. Ranged weapons are completely useless if the machine has a high resistance to a particular weapon type.

++++Closing in on the enemy++++

To close in one must post a post that he/she is boosting towards an enemy, the melee target then must retreat or be locked in melee.

A Melee user will want to still have a side-arm or weapon to fire while chasing down a ranged unit, if a unit retreats they cannot fire back, so it gives a melee user a win win situation as long as the ranged unit is suppressed and has no backup.

If one player is chasing Enemy A and Enemy B begins to close in on the player, Enemy B engages the player in melee and Enemy A can escape.

Retreating Is when a pilot does not attack and thrusts away from the enemy, he/she can still dodge attacks but cannot attack while being chased. Usually a melee user will want to use a sidearm in tandem while a unit is retreating.

Closing in Is when a pilot thrusts towards an enemy, once they reach them and the enemy does not retreat, both must engage in melee.

++++Upgrading and Customization++++

Besides the weapons, one can also customize and upgrade their existing machine. There are well...I already mentioned them I guess....Upgrading modifies your unit, and customize radically changes it.

++++Upgrading++++

Upgrading simply means you can take parts from a destroyed enemy and use it for your own machine. There is a few limits on this, but its dependent on your machines slot and capacity (Aka if its not already full of weapons)

A fully upgraded unit can carry 4 weapons for their hands, two stored at the back, 5 built-in weapons and three modifications. However for every new weapon installed, a mod for mobility has to be added so that the machine doesn't lose mobility. Bigger weapons need more mobility.

If you carry a massive gun, you suffer mobility deduction, you need to add thrusters to your unit modifications to balance it out.

Options/Modifications:

If a unit has a particularly nice option or subsystem its a good idea to install it if it comes out intact. You can just tell me which to install of course after a battle.

++++Customization++++

Customization means literally updating all the components of a mass-production or a limited production machine. Customized machines usually go with the tag "Custom" along with the times its been customized. Its quite powerful if someone customizes their unit into something brand new as it can face off against even a Knight Type Unit.

Customization Adds dice to the unit, and makes it no longer a Mass Production Type, using Customization allows one to build a unit based on the original with less constraints.

A Knight is a unit which is literally a super prototype, while a Customized MP Unit is a Mass Production which has been tuned to counter higher ranges of machines. Sometimes they both can be hard to defeat if facing each other, but usually a Knight will still outmatch a Mass Production no matter how many upgrades.

++++Machines and Types++++

MP: A lot of units are classified as MP. MP machines are easy to find, easy to upgrade, easy to build. As such they are usually the majority of enemies one will face and often one will pilot an MP unit at some point. Its not saying that because a machine is common its not powerful, but its a fact that in this roleplay MP units can be upgraded many times that it can rival a Knight or at least be a threat.

Officer: Officer Class is a type of unit which can be higher grade than MPs or meant to carry out field operations. An Officer Class usually carries the equipment needed to order a large scale assault or to direct foes against tactics with careful planning. Only a few Officer Class Units actually are better than MP units, most don't have weapons and instead rely on NPC and squad support.

Custom/Kai: Customs are the MP units which have been modified so much that they no longer resemble or are MP anymore.

Special Forces: SF types are those assigned to special forces or groups which are specialized into covert actions and need the specialization. They are much more better than MP units, but the problem with SF units is that there is often a limited loadout, and they are very picky when it comes to customization. Often SF units will be incompatible with enemy equipment, so SF units are mostly purpose intended machines.

Proto Knight: PKs are Prototypes which are testing the experimental equipment of a Knight. Most PK units can be considered as an aspect of the more powerful Vanguard but with lesser capabilities or with serious drawbacks. Because a PK is designed to test the technologies of a Knight, there is no need to actually make it perfect. Sometimes the PK will be riddled with so much instability that if a pilot does intend to use the machine more than the limited period it is active, they would have to modify it so much to cut the drawbacks.

Perfect Knight: Known in the armies as a KNI, KNI units are the best machines developed by the faction. After several tests a Knight is often made as the strongest and dangerous units a faction can offer. There is no such thing as an imperfect Knight, all Knights are developed to be able and hold out against entire fleets. Usually their arsenal includes weapons not even developed properly or capabilities that cost extreme amounts of resources. Knights are deployed via HQ, they can also be stored at a ship at the request of a captain or soldier. Their built-in Trans-Phase Engines are only used to deliver a Knight from the battlefield back to HQ and vice versa. They are rarely seen, often being the lone soldier in a battle against odds.

Knights however are bullet magnets, almost every ace pilot knows that a Knight is just a pilot in a fancy machine, grunts however often run at the sight. It is typical for Ace pilots to gang up on Knights to destroy them as such prestige guarantees the next pilot who lays the killing blow will get a Knight themselves.

V-Armor: Known as a Vehicle Armor. They are weapons which aren't classified as units. V-Armors have weapons and thrusters, sometimes just being simple ships or fighters with arms and legs. Other V-Armors are heavy cruisers which can fire thousands of missiles. They are often designed for a specific desire, in which some are designed to attack machines and others are designed to destroy ships.

++++Custom vs Knight++++

In many mecha and robot anime or cartoons and even 3d cgi movies when a super robot is destroyed it is destroyed but usually units belonging to the weaker enemies are numerous and replaceable.

In the roleplay a Knight is a precision machine, a Custom is a truck with armor and weapons on it. Similar to how this works, sometimes a powerful machine can turn the tide of battle, provided it has backup.

Knights are designed to be able to take out your machine and everyone elses, so don't be upset if a player's Knight can wipe you off the battle

But the key is that a Knight can never be rebuilt most of the time, a Custom can be replaced several times. Taking down a Knight requires teamwork and Npcs, the reward in taking down a Knight is great though.

Remember, most Knights are designed to be the best. If a Knight is jack of all trades, a specialized Custom Unit with enough upgrades may be able to overpower a Knight, its even better if teamwork is used.

Knight Weapons and Parts will make any Unit very powerful, so destroying a Knight gives the edge on any player who can put it into their unit.

OOC Decisions and Players

Factions are already quite advanced, they have technologies which allow them to use a multitude of weapons and devices.

But sometimes even they need help, a player in the roleplay can vote to build new units, weapons and take action on the OOC thread. I'll give the signal when this is available, and as such a player can change how things go.

Lets assume your character has a null purpose for voting and making decisions, well I count every player as a councilor member to the faction, so assume you are making decisions with that idea.

Units: A faction can make new units, I'll tell everyone what units are available and what specifics they are. Knights are the most expensive while Mass Productions are the least.

Weapons: A faction can manufacture new weapons. Weapons can be discussed on the OOC thread.

Take Action: There are TEN Locations on the map. Not all battles will be waged by players, so this is more like a passive thing. To actually participate in the battle the players must choose which to go to.

Pretty much it, thats all you need to know about this roleplay! If it starts soon I hope you can pass me an application, it'll be fun.

Name:Colt Winters
Gaia Name:Altsein
Age:21
Gender:Male
History and Personality: born to a poor family in a slum sector on Earth, colt wasn’t blessed with the advantages that those of higher class citizens were born with, but fate saw fit to give him some things to balance the scales. One was a keen intellect; one that allows Colt to fully understand the world in which he lives and how it really works. The second thing was a vast combat aptitude. Hand-to-hand fighting, handling firearms, and even piloting large machinery takes little effort for Colt to learn. If anyone were capable of pulling themselves out of the poor sector it was Colt, but fate had once again bared its fangs at the youth when upon reaching legal age he was conscripted by the military. Being forced into military service didn’t sit well with the youth and he showed a great distain for the authority figures. He also remained cold and indifferent to those who, like him, were conscripted. His skills were the highest of his group of cadets, but due to his attitude he was placed in a low level patrol group. Squadmates and higher ranked officers describe him as a man that could either save your life or tear your throat out depending on the flip of a coin.
Occupation Origin:Police patrol pilot

ABILITY:

Heartless: His experience has given him a ferocity in battle, but also earns the fear of his team as well.Can copy the ability of a player ally or NPC pilot once per battle, the ability is gone after the battle

Mass Production:

User Image

Name:OR-Ion
Faction:Lunesia
Type:Mass Production
History:The OR-Ion is one of the most well balanced and affordable of the 1st generation mechs. It’s relatively cheap, easy to pilot, and most importantly simple to mass produce. It is for the aforementioned reasons that the OR-Ion is one of the standard units in use in the Lunesia military. Being one of the first developed mechs it possesses only the simplest beam coating and hull plating, but it dose boast a decent kinetic defense. It is an effective unit when suppressing poorly armed resistance and even moderate threats.

Physical Force: +
Mobility: ++
Ranged Targetting: ++
Armor Plating: +

Resistances:

Kinetic: 6
Beam: 2

Weapons:
Hands:
~~~Patrol Rifle [Kinetic = 10]: A standard issue rifle used by all OR-Ion class units. Fires one shot per moment. It comes with its own bayonet which can be attached and does the same damage as the weapon.
~~~Daikon Shield: A simple shield that is small and lightweight, it resembles a piece of daikon radish. It can soak up 3 hits before it is destroyed.

Built in:
~~~Beam Sword[Beam = 12]: Stored behind the unit, the beam sword is a lightweight beam saber which is stored in a recharge holster until it is drawn. Extremely dangerous in melee combat.
Introduction:
"I'm worried that the OR will not function as needed. As you can see the test results while the machine is efficient the lack of weaponry and the lack of anything on it means that we'll have to deal with the problem sooner or later" Dr. Bu commented.
They had been watching the drills with the squad handling the OR from the distance. General Ramon had personally asked to watch as well, with the contingent of his division and the local police force watching the trials from the HQ on the monitors. The OR was the focus of most of the trials ever since the war had formally finished 25 years ago, and most of the older units had not been manufactured since the Lunesian Laws.
"Still..." Dr. Bu suddenly sighed. "I fear if we don't adjust the units to hold heavier weapons, we could be outmatched one day if such a group exists manufacturing the old units"
"I can understand that" General Ramon nodded. He had turned to the doctor for a moment, in the dark room where he and the doctor watched the monitors had shown a stream of results and calculations based on the data that each team were doing out there. So far he had been impressed though, nothing had stopped the OR from doing its job quite well in its early engagements with pirates.
"You tend to overthink, we haven't had a major conflict ever since the laws were signed. I don't see a reason why we should have stronger weapons if there is no one to target it at. Petty thieves and pirates are nothing compared to what happened years ago."
"I have to agree, although we could always have some way of handling it if the situation ever arose. Ah forgive me, a doctor has no place to question your superiors orders."
Dr. Bu wiped his glasses for a moment, the general was quite focused on the outline of the test however. It had been a long time since there was a formal testing of a new machine infact. Littered around the battlefield memories of the old units that came here and wrestled their prototypes were still fresh, soldiers who came here piloting the magnificent machines which later would end up as space debris had their place with the small craters and cracks in the walls. For the general to be so focused, truly he wanted to see grand battles like that again, he wanted to see pilots fight for their country. For these marks were left behind by those who valiantly put their future on the line to create this peace, it was a shame he could never do the same.
OR Training Session:
With each slash and bullet fired in the training area, it was hectic. The OR units moved faster and better than their predecessors, each unit holding their own with inexperienced pilots who had never used a mech before. Dust flew into the air with bullets firing from every space in the open area as two teams fought for dominance over the battlefield. The rules very very simple, the two colored teams had to best each other and the commander had to be defeated. Only if the commander was shot down would the other team win.
"I think we've got it so far!" One of the pilots yelled.
"Keep your helmet on! I keep seeing you taking it off while we're fighting! What if you were suddenly shot in the cockpit and the air comes out!?" Lieutenant Boris replied.
"Ah my control stick froze! Can I stop firing!? The rounds just keep recoiling into my machine. I can't seem to get the accuracy sorted out if the feeling in here makes me sick" Another one complained during the live fire exercise.
"Hey can I at least have a television in here? Like watching my movie and stuff?" Yet another pilot had seemed to be lackluster.
These newbies had no idea what they were doing, to some it seemed like there was clearly a distinct problem with the simulations as well. Nothing was the same as real live training.
OR Custom:(To Altsein)
"Ugh, its a circus out there! I thought these police officers would have some sort of discipline. It seems we'll have to show them ourselves why the military is superior to what these desk jockeys get. No.19, you have been assigned to your OR, the mission is very simple and by General Ramon's orders you are to engage both teams. Eliminate the commanders using the training rounds and Metal Sword provided to you on the unit. If you can eliminate both commanders the mission will be a success."
The coms officer in the watchtower relayed the information to his helmet, the cockpit of the OR as sleek as the designers intended it also displayed the coms officer's image as clear as it could be. It was updated, futuristic and that new vehicle smell filled the air that this pilot had been likely the very first operator of this particular variant. Controls were handled via the NEURO-CIRCUIT headrest, along with manual if need be. For the machine to move he simply needed to use his mind to control the movements.
In front of him would the gates open, revealing the simulated hot sun from the colony artificial star. Forests and rocks greeted the machine as the sounds of fighting came from the distance. From the sensors he could pick up numerous signals which were color coded to tell him where the commander was from the grunts, his first target being Lieutenant Boris with two incompetent policemen were the most nearest.
It was safe to note that unlike the other ORs he had a shield to block hits, artificial gravity also restricted him from using his thrusters but it also meant his enemies would not be able to thrust upwards either.
"Right...take it as precise as you usually do this, we've done this before in the prototype OR if you remember. You were one of the few who tested this machine in its early production so assume its the same thing. Do not kill the targets though, that is a direct order from General Ramon, you are clear to launch No.19"
Colt Winters
As the gate to the training grounds opened and the the artificial light washed over Colt's OR-Ion he was he greatly displeased. First of all the sound of the damned com officer was irritating and even worse his orders had come from a general. He had yet to find one he didn't loath. His bad mood was compounded by the performance of those in the simulation. Heaven forbid that he actually had to rely on these incompetent pilots in an actual combat scenario. He had planned to go out onto the training field even without orders because these half-assed pilots needed a reality check. They needed to experience some real fear and feel just how terrible their skills actually were. Maybe that would make them take their training a little more serious.
"I could care less about military superiority, but these bastards are pissing me off. So why don't you just shut up and watch me scare these little punks so bad that they wet themselves. After all, you said it yourself. As long as I don't kill them anything goes ,"calmly and coldly commented the young pilot. A slight, but unsettling smirk spread across colts face as his mech began sprinting forward into the field. The OR veered into a nearby forest and started making a beeline for the coordinates of Boris and his two subordinates. The Neuro-linker allowed colt to maneuver his unit as easily as moving his own body. The OR weaved through the trees effortlessly and it was almost like colt and his mech had become one. Every single movement felt as natural as breathing, but his awe at the OR's handling could come latter since he was almost at his target's location. His unit slowed and moved silently through the brush until he spotted the three OR-Ion's of the targets. Colt's mech crouched down, raised it's shield, aimed it's rifle, and began stealthily moving to a closer position.
"Let's see if these guys can put up a decent fight or if they'll crumble under pressure," whispered Colt to himself as he positioned his unit behind a thick cluster of trees about 100 yards from the targets. The OR-leaned out from behind the right side of the cover and aimed carefully with the patrol rifle which had its bayonet already affixed.
"Sink or swim you bastards. Of course swimming doesn't mean anything if there's a damn shark in the water," Yelled Colt as he fired a shot at the torso of the unit that was color coded as the commander. It was a simple tactic, take out the leader and the small fry will panic. The tactic won't work on well trained soldiers, but from what he witnessed from these guys before there was a high possibility they weren't that disciplined. It all came down to the roll of the dice.
[Automatic Hit, Target was not aware of the shot and did not dodge]
Lieutenant Boris
"What the!" Boris felt the explosion behind his back. "Its a training round! But aren't we defending our flanks?"
The OR suddenly keeled over as the thrusters behind the OR detonated, causing a chain reaction that sent the other pilots moving out of the commander's near area. With the collapse of their commander and his OR disabled, panic began to come across the policemen who had no idea what was going on. But as usual the training rounds only triggered the armor to disable the mech, there was no actual harm.
Dr. Bui gasped. "Well this is unusual, did you plan for that to happen? He isn't showing up on the radar, what exactly is his need to be there?"
One of the officers suddenly switched on the signal for the OR 19, so that the other newbies would see his unit on the radar. This meant that he'd be detectable by the other units. As General Ramon desired, he wanted to now see how he'd fare against dodging against these grunts.
"These people need to feel how war works Dr. Bui, the demonstration was rather nothing compared to what could happen on the battlefield. With this in mind the idea that a soldier capable of cleaning house should not be overwhelmed by this many police. If that was the case then its not the machine but the training these people are not going through" He responded.
The two watched through the monitor as the rest of the officers kept monitoring the new machine in the battle. It was an unexpected twist to the training. A soldier that was far more experienced against six trained policemen but with no idea how to pilot a unit after a week, the thing General Ramon was looking for was not their capability but their discipline.
"The demonstration was never about the policemen out there" General Ramon continued.
"I see, so you made them act as targets for this one" Dr. Bui realized. "I suppose you put much faith in that pilot don't you? I've read the profiles before we began this test, I didn't think you put it in the folder as a mistake I believed"
He'd wave his hand, dismissively. This pilot in that machine he knew had a bad history of running into the authorities, still would he have had a police pilot like this use one of the ORs in the field? It was unthinkable, this pilot's track record had the background to be a potential force in the future, despite the complaints of officers who handed him in the past.
"In the end it doesn't matter who he follows...what matters is what he does" General Ramon answered.
"Crap, so they sent out the a*****e already" Boris coughed. His unit was disabled on the ground kneeling as if he had taken a mortal hit. The machine had registered a direct hit just below the cockpit, which would have been fatal if he had not been in a training simulation.
"If this was a real fight we'd already have lost! Even if I'm down you need to take care of it, you hear me!?"
Outside the two pilots near his position were already retreating. They couldn't see where the machine was. It was as if they had lost morale in an instant at the sudden appearance of what seemed to be almost like a sniper.
"Where did the shot come from!?" One of them shouted.
"I don't know, Lieutenant what are we supposed to do out here!? We can see him on radar but we can't see him directly! What the hell is this!? Some sort of cloaking device?"
"Damnit!" It was fruitless. Boris sat there in his cockpit watching his men fire at the trees and at the bushes, they were in frantic panic as having no idea what to do or what to expect. Without his radar online or his machine, he was out for the match and watching his squad turn into an utter mess.
Squad 2:(To Colt)
"Lieutenant Boris has been eliminated" One of the pilots on the other team responded. A few rounds from the opposing team took out one of the pilots near Boris, leaving one more near Colt. Team 1 was eliminated save for one last member who was panicking and alert now.
"What!? But we never did that?" The commander on the other team radioed in.
"The mission parameters have changed, we're now to eliminate the target in the field. Since hes eliminated the other team's commander, you are next on the list. We're to make sure that doesn't happen"
"Come on we can't let the mission fail!" Kisuke communicated at the commander.
"Quiet ensign! He has the upper hand here, if hes going to come after me he is definitely going to make himself exposed out there. Once the last squadmember is disabled from that incompetent Boris we're going to be next, we're going to entrench ourselves near the nearest hill and take cover until he shows himself." The commander of that team ordered.
Team 2 which Colt had to face were entrenched behind a hill in a clearing right in front of him, from where Boris had been taken out. A few hundred meters away from his location infact. It was probably safe to assume that the moment he'd fire again they would be aware of his location and fire back, but as of now his radar signal would not give his direct position away.
The hill defended their position. It wouldn't be easy to shoot from there as well. The two were crouched while Kisuke was exposed, the commander not intending to move at all.
Kisuke was the most talented of the squad, having excellent skills of cognition and spatial awareness. Unlike the commander and the pilot nearby, there was a strange aura about him. In one hand was the rifle and the other was the beam sword, Kisuke was poised to strike as soon as he knew where Colt was regardless of what the commander said. If this was the case he'd probably be able to reach Colt in striking distance within a few seconds.
Colt had the forests around him as a good cloak. While the other lone team member from Boris was active, if Colt did move from his position that grunt would most likely be alerted to where he was first.
Colt Winters
Colt watched as his target's unit registered a fatal strike and ceased functioning. Just as planned the subordinates panic and began fire blindly into the dense forest. Surprisingly, one of them was shot and disabled by the other team. Colt would need to exercise caution as it seemed the other commander and his men weren't as useless as Boris' lackeys. Radar showed that they were likely hiding behind some nearby terrain, but with the last member of Boris' unit close by it would be impossible to break away and find a place to strike from without taking out the lackluster pilot.
"I'm not worried about getting shot right now since I've got some decent cover, but once I take this weakling out they'll be able to figure out were i'm hiding and come guns blazing. I'd be at a three to one disadvantage, but there's no way i'd lose to a bunch of slackers like them. Well, I guess it's time to poke the hornets' nest," grumbled the young pilot as his OR-Ion leaned slightly out of cover. Only a small portion of his unit was exposed as he aimed at the last member of Boris' squad and fired a training round right at the mech's core body. Colt quickly prepared for the skirmish that would soon follow.
Lieutenant Boris's Blunder
Grunt dodges the attack
Seemed like a stroke of luck, the pilot moved rather quickly, however Colt's mind could detect what the pilot was doing. It seemed like he was using a sort of ability which gave him some supernatual movement. For a rookie the pilot seemed rather panicky, but as time would pass by it was possible the pilot could get really nasty.
What Colt would feel was the NEURO-CIRCUIT adopting the fluid movement that pilot did, even if it was a lucky dodge Colt's mind could easily process the thought. The ability would be copied into the OR's Operating System and allow Colt to perform a similar dodge, although for some reason after the battle Colt's mind may not remember what he just learned. It was like an adrenaline rush infact, and like all adrenaline it would only be used in emergencies.
Perfect Dodge: Colt can now dodge one attack per battle perfectly
With the new reflexes suddenly picked up by the OR's systems, Colt could perform the same maneuver as well. As for the pilot well, he couldn't understand how he dodged it, he suddenly collapsed ontop of Boris as he pulled the stick for controls however his unit could not get up before they crashed together. With the one team eliminated, Colt just had to handle the other.
Kiseki was a dangerous opponent as no one had ever seen him fight before. The way he moved his machine was like a drunk man except his movements were intentional. The other squadmembers pinpointed where he was, while Kiseki began to take a few moments to locate where he was.
"I can....I can see him!" Kiseki pointed.
"We can't aim at him properly however! Kiseki do you see where he shot from!?" The Commander responded.
"I can fire at him but its not going to help telling us you can see him!" The other said, getting up from the hill his head was now exposed if Colt had a shot to spare, however he may have wanted to take care of the nearby unit that was now thrusting towards him.
Kiseki
Kiseki's machine suddenly began to run towards Colt, one arm upwards as the other dropped the rifle and the beam sword was drawn as quick as he responded, he was going to attempt to charge right at Colt with no defense or weaponry than the sword itself. The other two pilots seemed to locate Colt now, however only the pilot that reared his face could fire.
With his rifle in aim the commander's guard fired at Colt a single round from his weapon, although it was not accurate, he couldn't see Colt as well as Kiseki could, so until Colt moved or Kiseki engaged him he wouldn't fire properly.
Kiseki is closing in on Colt, Other Grunt has 1/2 roll due to Colt still being in cover.
(Now like any realism, we're pretty much not, but anyway let me explain this.
Kiseki is charging so if you don't retreat you'll engage melee with him on the next turn, you can still use your bayonet on him however. You can also fire one more time before he does close in. Retreating is only good if you have other NPCs or players who can fire at the target while they chase you. HOWEVER while closing-in works, no melee can be done until your unit is not retreating.
Now in this roleplay position also matters, because you have a shield right in front of you, the pilots won't shoot you because you aren't in the position without friendly fire. You also have a perfect dodge to use once per batle, so if you feel you roll a bad roll, you can use the skill to dodge once, and it will be skillfully nulled.)
