A form stumbled awkwardly out of the cover of the forest, tripping over her own feet as she tried to stop the inevitable. With a hard thud, she fell flat on the ground, sending a could of dust up around her. What the... she didn't finish the thought as the sight of a place she wasn't just two seconds ago took her by surprise. Scanning the area from the ground, she made sure she was the only one around before pushing to her feet, dusting off the now dirt covered shirt and jeans she wore. Her hands throbbed from the fall and upon inspection she discovered that a layer or two of skin was missing from her bleeding palms.
"Well damn," she muttered to herself as she pressed her hands against her thighs to dull the ache. Slowly, she began to explore. The forest was unlike anything she had seen before, the trees were ten times taller than any she had back home and some of the plants she had never seen before and for the first time she questioned if she were even still on earth. Moving carefully and cautiously she leaned over to smell one of the flowers and quickly drew back, muffling a cough. "How pleasant." The sarcasm hung on her lips as she pressed on, heading to where she thought she heard people.
In no time she was upon the tavern, she took it in for all of it's worth, the drab though inviting exterior and the warmth the building exuded. For a second she was hesitant, not knowing where she was or who might lie within that lonely building but the nagging thought that she would have no chance in this strange forest alone convinced her to trudge down the hill and push open the large wooden door. What she saw was certainly not what she expected and it took her a moment or two to realize she was standing in a doorway gawking like a fool. Almost mouse-like she scurried through the tables until she found one unoccupied, trying not to let her eyes linger for too long on the strangely attractive strangers. One was blonde and sat at the bar, and it didn't take much effort to see his muscles through shirt. The man he was talking to was equally as attractive, though he seemed more reserved and refined and Riven was sure his muscles were just as nice as the other's. When her eyes fell upon the woman who stood amongst them, the young girl quickly looked elsewhere. The last thing she needed was a super attractive woman catching her staring at one of two would-be boyfriends, but in her effort to look elsewhere she found herself staring at a half naked - strike that- half naked and damn sexy man in a... war skirt? "Did I die and go to a LARPing convention?" She muttered under her breath as she pulled her eyes away from the nicely chiseled half naked man. Riven was sure she couldn't be any more surprised until she heard the clapping of hooves on the hard wood floor. "Now what is a horse doing inside a building?" she thought to herself until her eyes fell upon the source and nearly jumped out of her head. "A CENTAUR?!" She wanted to scream out loud but even in her shocked state knew it was best to try and go unnoticed.
Riven sank low in her chair, trying to reign in the mixture of terror and wonder that swirled in her chest. Closing her eyes she took in a deep breath, wondering if maybe she were only dreaming. Realistically, she knew better but that was the only plausible explanation her brain could come up with for why there was not one, but two Centaurs having a drink at a bar. It sounded like the beginning of a bad joke and Riven nearly jumped out of her seat as a bar wench spoke.
"What can I get you?" she asked. Riven took a moment to process, biting back the panic attack that she could feel rising in her chest.
"J-just water, please." She replied, At least they speak English...
