I'd go with Ang, he had more focus and dedication to his powers since he grew up around the other Air Benders. For Korra she just automatically had all of the powers with no real focus or time to practice till she was a teenager.

I agree completely. Korra is less skilled (despite having at least 12+ more years of training than any previous avatar at her age) and contradicts herself very often, though that's probably more due to the bad writing of this series vs the original. Her character development, or what little she has, is constantly being erased. Personality-wise, she's not a very realistic person to me, anyway.

I've tried really hard to like Korra, because she's supposed to be a good female lead, but I'm not seeing it. Katara was a way better female character than Korra is.
