Mods spend more time acting upon reports for GD in general because the amount of reports are very high compared to other forums. We rely on users to help report threads and we'll work on giving users more influence in determining what threads are inappropriate. In fact, a system is already in place to see who had been submitting helpful reports. In the near future, we'll be using that data to help promote users to become moderators.
We have ton of moderators, and a group of admins help all the moderators, it's no longer my own responsibility anymore. But I do get reports to see who each moderator is performing.
Moderators have the freedom to move threads and maintain order if necessary.
Yes, many mods had been un-assigned for inactivity. We're back up to where we were at last month as many new helpers got up to speed.
A Green Beret
Hello lanzer, I've been wanting to ask some question but I never got a chance to ask them because I forgot what time this was.
So I'm rather concerned for my home forum, the General Discussion.
quite frankly it's filled with spam so I ask you this:
1. Are there any priorities that the mods have been assigned to, as in looking through reports vs just browsing and deleting/moving threads as is appropriate.
2. do the mods always send you private message when they've acted upon a report, because I report often but many of them don't get messages back.
3. Are the mods allowed to simply move and delete threads or do they have to file some sort of paper work?
4. Do you clean out inactive mods and then replace them with new ones, it seems like you hardly see some of them on any more.
