First of all, welcome!
We're glad to have you stumble past this shop, as it isn't your run of the mill "WE ARTISTS NEED GOLD" sort of thing.
We, the founders of this shop, MsLyricism and The Kraken, have been around Gaia for a very long time and we've found the Art Shops forum
(as well as the artists and prices within it)
has grown to become overzealously greedy,
which is why we have retreated to the Art Freebies forum for such a long time.

However, through a fever dream, this new idea for a shop was born.
What if we gave ALL of the gold earned through our art...away?
And what if our friends pitched in their amazing talents too?
And what if there are contests and raffles and -

To clarify, by charity, we mean CHARITY.
All of the proceeds of the shop will go BACK to Gaia's artist community.
Look below at our rules to see how all of this is going to go down.

Before we get too excited, we have to lay down some rules, guidelines, and faqs for our young little shop.

ONE
Be nice.
This is the number one rule for a reason.
If you are a bigot, a jackass,
or you overstep any courtesy
these generous artists are extending to you,
The Kraken will gut you like a tasty fish. c:

TWO
All commissions have a minimum price.
If you're commissioning a PERMANENT artist, the minimum price is 80k.
If you're commissioning a GUEST artist, the minimum price is 75k.
All proceeds for art will go to the account SONGSTRESS OF THE SEA. 15% of the gold each artist makes will go back to them, but the rest will be distributed back out as charity.


THREE
Anyone is welcome to be an artist here, there are just a few things you have to do for us before you can be properly inducted into the shop.

My name is the Kraken. Feel free to call me by any variation of Kraken you'd like, or you can all call me by my nicknames: Cap or Shra. You can also use my real name, Sara; you'll DEFINITELY get my attention if you do.
I'm a chibi artist 'round these parts, but I dabble in several different styles and mediums all the time. If you have a request for something other than my chibis, just ask! We can definitely work something out. c;

Greetings~!
You may call me Missy, Lyric, or whatever you'd like.
I enjoy music, roleplaying, animals, and of course, art! I have only recently started doing anything Gaia related again, after my tablet took a s**t, so currently unless taking part in a collab, all my art is traditional. I'm not as great at drawing people as I am other random things, but I am getting better as I go, trying to experiment with different poses and techniques. Been on Gaia since '06. I frequent the Charity/Quests Forum on here (particularly GTPAY, I'm addicted) so if you think you know me from somewhere, that is most likely it. I love interesting conversations and meeting new people, so feel free to quote me here at random and chat. <3

Males < females.
No furries (ears and tails are okay).
No mecha.
No masks (or ridiculous face paint).
No excessive clutter (I need to be able to tell what each item is).
If it's an oc, give me some sort of visual reference.
Pets may or may not be okay, depending on what kind.
If you aren't sure if your avi/OC is too complex or not, feel free to post it before you order, and I'll happily answer any questions or give it a yes/no up front. :3

To enter, you must purchase art from one of our artists and be accepted to occupy a slot. Our goal is to fill all 15 slots, between all 5 artists by the 11th of April, then two random numbers will be generated between 1-15, and the selected number will be directed to the participating artist to receive their free commission. The art you receive will be custom made at your request, but the artist has creative rights as well. The commission has been paid for (by Bee, bless her heart <3), so you will be getting high-quality and complete art.

You will still receive your purchased art whether you win or lose.
You are welcome to fill multiple slots and increase your chances of winning, so long as you pay full price.
