Welcome to Gaia! ::

Hello AD, basically the title explains it all-

I'm looking to get back into traditional painting, particularly in watercolors, but I'm not really sure which ones to bother with.
I don't mind buying nice ones, mostly I'd like to stay away from anything that looks or feels chalky.

Do you guys have any suggestions of which brand is a good one to get or where to get them?

Thank you for your time!

I've always had good, rich color from Van Gogh and Winsor & Newton. They'll be cheaper at craft stores like Michaels, but better stocked at art supply stores.

Avoid anything with the word "student" on it. There are good student paints out there, but 90% of them are s**t quality with low pigment and a consistency that can range from poster paint to plastic goo.

Not a clue sorry. Try asking an artist you like on dA directly about what they use or recommend.
