Kiyoko grew up with the perfect life and the perfect family. She had the 'white picket fence.' Her parents were loving and kind and she never really got in trouble. ( From what they noticed.) Though, she was different. Kiyoko had white hair ever since she was a child. It took her parents a very long time to get used to, but it was more important that she was healthy. Her parents explained that when she was young, she fell off a boat and almost drowned, but they had no idea how she had survived. Having white hair meant that she was different than everyone else. She was alone and an outcast from school. Kiyoko learned the art of skipping school and did it almost every day. Her grades were still high since she read the text books. Then, one day she ran into a dark haired teen.

Liser in the heir to the Levenstang clan, a clan that's famous for producing quality sword smiths, and legendary swordsmen over the centuries. They really didn't rise to power till after bending disappeared from the world and in this modern era their a very wealthy clan. Liser ( 12 at the time) and his younger brother Hato were sparring near a cliff once, and Hato (10 at the time) beat him since he was always the better swordsmen (even though he was younger). In that moment Liser got angry and discovered his ability to bend air, and ended up pushing his brother off the cliff's edge, sending him to his fate.

Liser being ashamed and confused by what he did, ended up stealing his brothers sword (which is the pride of a Levenstang swordsmen and is needed for their funeral ritual), not wanting to acknowledge his brothers death. He then fled into the real world becoming a nomad. He then spent the next 7 years training to learn how to use his air bending and sword techniques in secret.

Saiyo was taught the ways of earth bending by monks. He had thought he had lived in the Buddhist Monastery all of his life. However the elder monks had erased memories of his past. When he learned he was basically brainwash he demanded for the truth. The elders told him that the truth will only hurt him and he must take a journey to find his past. Saiyo left to search for his true past..

Nila lead a happy life until she accidentally saved her drowning cousin with waterbending, her village (Ember Island) was convinced she was a witch and wanted to burn her at the stake, her family included at the age of 16 she ran away from her village and traveled the earth adapting her waterbending skills.

Shadow is the first phase of a three phase project to create a bending army by the modern day Dai Li. His name true name abandoned when he entered the experiment, given the codename shadow, he was a normal human given the ability to wield flames like any fire bender. The project was a success, but left him horribly burned in various places which across his body, which he covered with black and crimson bandages.

Combined with a katana with electricity and his far above average ability for bending fire he become a prime agent for the organization, leading multiple missions in an attempt to capture more benders for phase 2 of the Dai Li's project. Shadow soon became a formidable hunter, and very few could escape him.
