One Eyed, Mohawk'd Fellow. Digital Portrait Painting

I found an old sketch of one of my characters, and decided to play with it as a portraiture test-- it's been a while, but I think I've learned quite a bit. I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Here's a bit of progression on it below

Original sketch, from March 2012. It's pretty solid, a couple of funky spots. But a bit flat and out-of proportion.


The underlying shading, half-finished, started a day ago. Really fleshed out the form, fixed some of the proportions, felt good to see it come out so nicely.

Overall, excellent work. Not a big fan of the color choices but that's a personal bias. But that ear needs fixed.

Narpy: Thanks for the pointer-- I did rework the ear on the original file. Not reflected above, but I've got a slightly better ear.
