most people watch the anime to see how it turns out in fluid animation bc they like it

It depends on how I feel about the story.

Some stories I don't care enough to watch a show about, but others are so damn good I will watch anything relevant to it whether it's movies, spin offs, or live action. cat_surprised

I do try to give anime adaptations a chance most of the time though. I love me some good animation.

if I like the manga and I think it has any chance of adapting well, then yes.
If I like something enough I'll read and watch it multiple times. I read all of DB and DBZ after having watched the show a zillion times and it was still worth it to see it in that medium. Vice versa if I read a manga and like it I'll probably enjoy it in animation.

Most of the manga that I read don't have an anime.
I prefer anime, but love both.

I prefer reading manga just because there's a lot more of it out there. (There are many manga series that I really like that never got an anime series emo ) However, if a manga series that I really enjoy has an anime counterpart, I at least check it out to see if I like it or not.
I almost always do. No point in missing out on something just because it might not be the same as the book.

Not likely. Normally I binge read the manga and by the time I
get to the anime I really don't want to start from the beginning
of what I just read. And if it is drastically different from the manga
I don't normally pick it up anyway. neutral I'm picky that way.
There are some special cases like Magic Kaito 1412 where it has
had so many anime adaptations I just gotta watch them all because
not all the chapters where covered. And plus it is by my favorite mangaka
so I gotta pick up the anime regardless.

I almost always prefer the manga, but usually at least check out the anime. Some adaptations are better than others, but its usually fun to see the animated versions of my favorite characters. What do you prefer?

I'll give it a try.

There are some rare occasions when I do prefer the anime over the manga. Some stories are actually better told in animation than in sequential art.

Lonely Loiterer

Both! The manga maybe better but at least give the anime a shot. It may turn out better and the content produce may not be the same as the manga.

Of course. They both have something the other lacks. Except for Black Cat. The anime was terrible while the manga was amazing.

I'm always willing to give the anime a try.

But 9 times out of 10 I'm disappointed with them. They just aren't typically very well done because they're just expensive advertisements for the manga series.
