Just curious. What does your name mean?

Perfect Attendance, oh my goodness. That one is almost as bad as Elocutionist. And let's not forget Conventioneer. :'D And for your question, I hope you're comfortable with a pretty big on-the-spot explanation. I don't think I've ever been asked to explain this before, hehe.

Well, the necro part of it's from all the time I've spent in the Danny Phantom fandom. That's kind of self-explanatory: the hero of the story is often thought of as being (literally) half-dead (wait, what?), and there's plenty of ghosts and other paranormal stuff involved with that.

Lys is a relative word of sorts for light, and in most languages there's either an l, a y/i, or an s in the word. Light is a word I'm fond of since there's always a philosophical aspect to it; you can't have it without darkness or the other way around. It's also quite the contrast to necro, unless you consider lys part two...

"A combining form meaning 'lysis,' 'decomposition,'" is what the dictionary says for the actual Greek word. This particular definition was not what I had in mind when I made my username. Ironic when you think about it. XD

The Y is there mostly because it's one of my favorite letters before fanfiction ruined it forever. I find it to be a really interesting letter because sometimes it's a consonant, and sometimes a vowel, haha. Also, it provides a sort of symmetry for the name, and I like having one letter twice (prevents people from using my proper username when trading monoalphabetic keyword ciphers >:]).

In summary (wow, sounds like I'm writing something important!), it's all inspired, I suppose, by one the first usernames I ever made (years ago, hehe), which was something deep and short I can't completely remember about there being light despite death.

at least you didn't have to sit through the story of my secondary name, Ufimtsev. Because people generally regret asking about that one OTL That handle was less "let's think this out before making it permanent" and more "there's a million things I know related to this name so let's go with that."

I don't remember taking that long to think about ynecrolys (though my memory is definitely not infallible). Right now I'd probably say it took longer to type out the explanation, haha.

To me I just threw a couple of things in together and they happened to work well each other and express a few of my interests (there's a lot of them, trust me...). On a side note, I tend to ramble. That might have been obvious. sweatdrop My explanation was completely accidentally intense, I assure you. Probably because that was the first time I've explained it.

How about you? I think Asalym's a unique name regardless of whether it has a ton of background information to tug around or not. .w.
