Fans believe they have the ability to go all the way and the performances of the team suggest the faith isn't all too farfetched, though Uruguay will pose their first real test of the competition.
However, their South American counterparts will be without talismanic frontman Luis Suarez after he was banned for 9 international fixtures for biting Chiellini's shoulder.
Reports suggest Uruguay are threatening to not play Colombia in protest of his ban and the furore surrounding Suarez is expected to hamper pre-match preparations.

Yeah it's been good so far. What purpose does the half circle in front of the goal serve? Is it like a foul line?

It's the penalty arc, when there is a penalty only the kicker and the goalie are to be inside it.
If a player enters it (other than the goalie and the one taking the penalty), the penalty has to be retaken. Obviously, this before the penalty is taken, when it is already executed, the players can go inside to ensure the opposition players don't get a hold of the ball. In penalty shootouts this doesn't apply, only in penalties taken during a 90 minute match or elongation time.
