Tessa the Thylacine
Description: The thylacine (also known as the Tasmanian tiger, the marsupial wolf, or the tiger-wolf) was a marsupial carnivore resembling a tawny striped dog that once lived throughout Australia. They became extinct on the mainland long before European settlement, but they remained alive and well in Tasmania until British colonists settled there to raise sheep. Thylacines were shy and could be tamed easily if taken captive; some became affectionate, protective pets like our Tessa. But they were considered to be a threat to sheep and chickens (which they only rarely attacked) and were hunted to extinction for profit. The last known thylacine died in a zoo in 1936; there are sightings in Tasmania and occasionally on the mainland, but so far no conclusive proof has been obtained.
EXTINCTION IS FOREVER. NEVER AGAIN.
