Description: There once was a poor girl who sold matches, and was not permitted to return home until she did. However, on one especially cold night, the girl could not sell a single one. Unable to return home, she sat in the cold, lighting the matches to keep her warm, and after the final match had burned out, the cold had taken her-- But her spirit remains, glowing like the flame of a lit match, warming those who are left to brace the cold.
