Athearn was more than a friend to all, but as a family member. He was the most cheerful and funny guy you can ever meet with a very generous soul. Even with having serious health issues he managed to put a smile on his face and others when in need of hug. This tribute combines his love of pets along with a sense of humor he would have enjoyed.
