Lady Jayne's Heroism

Description: "Time's up. Now, tell me where the book is.”
The assassin had backed Dr. Smyth up against a wall of the Caldus Museum, his gun pointed to the professor's forehead. Unbeknownst to him, Jayne had hidden herself nearby and was reading a section of Smyth's translation, the same one he'd used to animate the pharaoh.
Suddenly, the mummies in the museum burst to life, crashing through their glass casings, and fell upon the assailant, who let out one final piercing scream. In the chaos that ensued, Jayne and the professor made a swift exit, locking the doors to the museum behind them.
The newspaper the next day read: "MYSTERIOUS MUMMY MASSACRE: TORN BODY FOUND BENEATH CORPSES IN MUSEUM"
"You were right, Jayne. The spell only lasted until sunrise," Dr. Smyth remarked. "After all this, please tell me we're going back to the University."
Jayne smirked and threw the newspaper aside. "Ha! Not a chance. It's time for a new adventure."
