I am a mostly stay-at-home mom, and enjoy my two children and husband more than I can say.
I adore most reading material but particularly the works of JRR Tolkien, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman and Robert Jordan (so you can probably guess what my favorite genre is). I am currently reading Heinlein's Time Enough for Love which, despite being terribly full of sex for at least the second half of the book, I'm rather enjoying for the philosophy. Well, at least when the philosophy isn't about the sex - I think the man was seriously obsessed with incest (hey, that rhymes!). Freud would have had to go have a lie down.
In my spare time, I do alternative healing and will hopefully go back to martial arts soon (ask me about my custom staff if you really want to hear me gush). I make time for RPGs, especially the paper-n-dice kind. We're currently breaking in our crispy new D&D 4E set, which totally rocks all over any previous editions, despite their odd insistence that miniatures are now mandatory. I used to go to Otakon every year, though time for enjoying my favorite form of media entertainment has gone down since becoming a mommy. This year, we've accidentally scheduled our Summer vacation for the same dates, so don't look for me there. I'll be on a nice sandy beach, trying to avoid a sunburn.
And last but not least, I'm a complete foodie, particularly in regard to sushi and tako yaki - no, not as corollary to the anime thing, I just really like fish!
Oh yeah - I hate cheese. Or rather it hates me. Cheese me no likey. To be fair, it's all dairy products. The nifty part of this is that I actually have at my disposal a legitimate scientific explanation of how exactly cheese makes me insane and evil. I could probably even mount a semi-decent legal defense with it. I find it uncanny how close this comes in my book to qualifying as a superpower.
