I dunno, I'm loathe to play favourites with bands because I'll probably listen to a band a lot then forget about them a month later when I move onto something else. I listen to way too much stuff. Generally anything sort of shoegaze-y, ambient and/or psychedelic is what I tend towards

I went to a middle/high school that taught Latin. They also taught us a little geek in high school. (I had a scholarship).

If you're really interested in Latin, take French or Spanish in high school, and look for colleges with god classics programs when it's time to apply. The grammar in French and Spanish is completely different, as they are linear, like English. (The rules are a bit different for them, but it's similar enough to pick up). It'll get you used to endings in grammar and you can default quite a bit of vocabulary back to the source.) There's also a lot of latin in academic/scientific English, so the same studying you do for SATs should be helpful with Latin. Lacrimous=sad (English), lacrima i= tear (Latin). at least it's something.

I'm not a fluent reader any more, but I had 6 years in grade school and have a bachelor's degree in Classics (Latin and greek language). i no longer really use it though, so i've lost nearly all my greek and my Latin is rusty.

My user name is a slang phrase from the Satiricon, which I read in Latin in college.
