Same here, I heard about it when Andrew first did an interview about it. I researched what it was about and I hated it and thought it was dumb.
But like you, I then became in love with the idea kind of. Nothing can replace Phantom it's self. But it can be a close second. ;]
The Erik that's going to be on Broadway for it my sister saw live in London when they saw Phantom there.

My dream was always to see Michael Crawford, and Sarah Brightmen, preform it. But good luck getting that to happen!
Last year in November Sarah Brightmen came to my town and did a concert. By the time I found out, tickets were sold out. -__-

Well, I dream of seeing Phantom of the Opera. D:
It came to my town a few years ago, but I wasn't able to go the tickets were to pricey for me. :'(

A month or so ago, my brother and sister went to London.
I got very upset because they went to my two favorite musicals, Phantom, and Wicked.
They came home with a Phantom shirt and Wicked hoodie, and shirt for me. (:
I love those shirts. ^__^

Yeah, the RPG is kind of dead. o__O
I've been fine, I finally watched WICKED! But, it was a camcorder recording, but it was good enough. It was wonderful, second to Phantom of course!
But thats about it. ^_^
