About
"We're ACTORS, we're the OPPOSITE of people!"-- The Thespian, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.I'm Eric. I'm your typical little indie-emo kid. I'm the peace activist son of a hippie! And damned proud of it! I don't believe in organized religion but I couldn't live without Spirituality. Some days I feel like life is pain and suffering and we're only here to test our breaking points. Other days I think my life is pretty kick a**. I have a tendency to speak in song lyrics or lines from plays. I'm fiercely loyal. I protect those I care about. I may work for a peace activist organization, but I am not above violence if you hurt one of my friends. I'm finally driving, but I still prefer my bike. I'm proud of the fact that I don't eat meat. I think the current practices of the Meat Industry are cruel to both animals and humans as well as dangerous for our environment, and I don't think those are prices to be paid for me to have a cheeseburger. If you want a cheeseburger that is your prerogative, and I won't try to dissuade you. Just don't ask if you don't want me to tell. I'm pretty open minded. I love diversity, I think it makes the world go 'round. A person can be gay, straight, bi, or transexual, white, black, asian, middle eastern or polka dotted and I won't even notice it. I don't judge people. Even based on their own individual personality. Like my friends say "it takes a LOT for YOU to find someone weird, E, and when you do it's normally in a good way."
I'm shy, quite, and reserved around people that I don't know, but loud, boisterous, and random around people that I know well. I'm dark and cynical. I love sarcasm. I'm brutally honest. But I also care VERY much about people's feelings. I tend to have a VERY pessimistic view of life and the world, but that changes at the drop of a dime when my friends are having problems. THEN I turn into the guy who seems to have the realistic with a SPLASH of optimist view on things and can always give advice.
I live in my own little world. I call it Ericland. Our national currency is the hug. Our Nation's animal is the Mogwai, but we can't get it wet or feed it after midnight. And our National Anthem is "Four Winds" by Bright Eyes.
My friends describe me as "adorkable," "deep," "sensative," "honest," "one of a kind," and, occasionally, "stupid."
I believe that Kevin Smith was absolutley right when he wrote "My father taught me how to be a man, and not by in me a sense of machismo or an agenda of dominance. He taught me that, a real man doesn't take, he gives; he doesn't use force, he uses logic; he doesn't play the role of the trouble maker, but rather of the troubleshooter. And, most importantly, a real man is defined by what's in his heart, not what's in his pants."
