i am 16 and i had been abused as a baby my dad treas me like crap i have a lot of people who r rude to me (counting u) some jerk always stalks me and andrew and tries to run us over and i am emotional i cry wen someonelse does oh and i knew somthing bad was gonna happen today i had the feeling and a dream were u triend to kill me and u almost succeded if my life was as good as people say life is suposed to b id be happy but my life isnt and i guess thats how the lord made my life have to b look i m not trying to bore u but u asked for this and i might nvm look i m telling andrew cuz i new u wuld say no cuz i cant do anything rite and i m telling myself to grow up act my age or else noby will like me and it was my fault so if u dont mind i m sorry and u dont have to forgive me.................................................ect.

"The battle of the Somme was partially important in shaping military tactics for the remainder of the war.

One mistake they learnt from was that there were too many people with overlapping jobs. This meant that there was confusion and everything took longer to set up. They learnt from the Somme to allocate one job to each person. This meant that the work got finished faster, they didn’t get in each others way and they didn’t have conflicting jobs.

Another mistake was that they had the workers who made the shells fighting, meaning unskilled workers were left to make them. This meant that 30% of the shells were faulty and they didn’t cut the wire or kill the Germans.

Another mistake was that the commanders were miles away from the front line. This lead to poor communication and meant men had to take a phone into no-mans-land which was very dangerous. They learnt from the Somme by having the commanders go down into the trenches. This meant that they could make on the spot decisions and also not having to wait to be told if they could retreat. This saved time and lives. Maxwell at Thiepval started this process.

One mistake was attacking at 7:30 in the morning. This was a problem because the Germans could regroup and fight back. Also, the Germans knew what was happening and when to go under cover from the shelling. The lesson learnt was to attack at midday. This did not give the Germans enough time to plan counter attacks and gave the British time to prepare. Also it gave us the nights to dig new trenches. We also changed the shelling tactics from all the time to little and often, which was unpredictable and secretive.

A different mistake from the Somme was that the soldiers got told to walk across no-mans-land. They later used tanks and creeping barrages so it was easier and safer to get across.

A problem was that if you had skilled men it was harder to replace them because there were limited numbers of men who had experience and new how to fight. We had less skilled men which meant it was easier to replace them with other people. This was called conscription. We had lots of places to take men from; America, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Another problem was the fact that the Germans were using the seas to bring in their supplies so we blocked up the ports to stop the ships coming in with the supplies. This weakened the Germans because they were running out of weapons.

The men on the German side were experienced which was a problem because they knew how to fight. But our men had 2 years experience in trench warfare so we had the upper hand."
