Sonic Cry

Watching the man clad in all black, she had been tracking. Keeping to the shadows, only moving when he did. She barely made a sound as she crouched down along some metal piping along the ceiling and walls. Moving agile about like that of a ballet dancer or tight rope walker. When he stopped, she did too. When she had stopped, she thought she heard the rambling of men discussing something between them about one of the guards missing. All of a sudden their conversation was interrupted with black billowing smoke rising up from one of the doors leading down into engineering. A big burly man came scrambling up, shouting in foreign tongue. Undoubtedly Russian. She could decipher a few words, understanding that he was cussing like a sailor. He continued on with his wailing until he brushed past the men standing around dumb founded urging them to follow. Sounded like they were having engine issues, which meant this boat wasn't going to be heading anywhere for the time being. Perhaps that incident bought some time? Returning her attention forwards, she saw that her nighttime scrapper had moved onwards in his quest. It was time for her to play catch up, by taking a different route, so not to cause alarm to him or any others that might be around.

The first felled henchman she came across was unconscious, as she checked for a pulse. At least the man who was rendering these men unconscious did have a conscience. No need for killing unless absolutely necessary. But who was he? Was he friend or foe? There was a line of bodies that could be found throughout the docks out for a time. Until they either started to come to or were riled by some force. Whoever he was, she was going to shadow his footsteps until she could capture a better feel of this masked man. She would not get too close to where she would blow her own cover. Black Canary did however, make sure to cover her tracks to make sure no one was following either one of them. Crouching down lowly behind one of the crates, she could hear foot steps approaching from the side. Timing the movement, she held onto her breath as one of the guards appeared. He wasn't looking down along the ground, he was keeping watch at eye level. With his back towards her, he began to light a cigarette, taking a smoke break as he watched the others work. He was preventing her from venturing further, not for long. The man reached up to respond to a radio calling that someone wasn't found at their post. Tossing the cigarette, he instantly moved in the opposite direction towards where the other man should have been at. While watching him depart, she glanced between the wood planks of pallets towards the activity of henchmen moving cargo off of a ship and onto several trucks. Torn between heading in that direction to stall those men, towards the masked vigilante she saw. She went against her best judgment and decided to follow the masked man who had peeked her interest.
