I am 25.
I graduated college
summa c** laude with a B.A. in English Literature and a B.A. in Philosophy and Religious Studies.
Yes, I am training to become a professional nerd.
...either that, or just live in a box for the rest of my life.
No, now I'm just trying to find a somewhat useful job.
I used to work in a chocolate factory, but now I am free of that hell.
I work part time as a freelance writer and another part of the time as a freelance musician.
Though I'd really like to go to graduate school for library and informational science.
Though my dream job would be to get a Ph.D. in Victorian Literature.
My academic interests are incredibly numerous and diverse.
I'm most interested in Victorianism, British colonialism, imperial and post-colonial theory, and New Religious Movements, specifically ("Neo")Paganism from a 19th and 20th century perspective.
My mother thinks I'm a crazy hippie gothic nerd. o:
....she may possibly be right.
Except I'm not one of the Germanic peoples who conquered Rome; therefore I am not Gothic.
Though the mere fact that I just said that may make me a nerd. :B
My life is wonderful as long as I have good music, good tea, and good books.
I am frequently lost in thought. It is a very fun place to be lost.
I am gay, and have a wonderful girlfriend.
I am pretty butch, bordering on transgendered. I often pass as a 12-year-old boy.
I define my spiritual path as some form of Chaos-based Heathenism mixed with whatever other spiritualities happen to get assimiliated. It is malliable.
I was a high school band geek.
I play in community bands and theatre pit orchestras casually.
My primary instrument is clarinet; I also play bass clarinet, flute, saxophone, keyboards, percussion (mallet, snare, and aux.), and most importantly, ukulele.
I am currently learning viola (alto clef FTW) - I know exactly 10 notes so far, ph33r mah skillz.
My
god favorite author is Oscar Wilde.
I also love Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Vladimir Nabokov, and Christopher Marlowe.
And any of the great Gothic and Russian masters.
I speak Italian and Spanish.
Ethnically, I am Portugese and Irish.
And I am currently learning Greek.
I am a huge mythology nerd, Eastern, Western Traditional, and Classical.
I am also a huge Shakespeare nerd, with a particular affinity for tragedies.
I love penguins and penguin plushies.
I really hate sports. Except cycling.
I ride mountain bikes hardcore. Currently training for a triathlon.
I am a DJ.
I am a vegan.
I really dislike angry, man-hating feminists. Unless you are misogynistic and/or heteronormative around me, in which case, you will be corrected.
I am addicted to caffeine.
I adore symphonic/power metal bands and all genres of death metal.
My favorite band ever is Kamelot.
Though I listen to just about every genre under the sun. Including opera.
I write poetry, though not as often as I should.
Rhyming, metered poetry; none of that emo free verse that pollutes the mind of the modernist poet.
Though I have been getting into more artistic free verse as of late.
Really, I'm better at prose.
Fashion to me is looking like a frilly metrosexual gay boy. There is nothing sexier than a pressed white shirt with a black tie.
I wear a cloak. That I made myself.
I like people who type with something that closely resembles proper grammar.
If I want to give you gold and/or items, I will come to you. I dislike beggars.
Especially beggars who tYPE LyKe tHIS loljk!!111!!!1!
