Oh, and it has been in retrograde for the past couple weeks or so. I think each period of retrograding (at least for Mercury) is about three weeks: things should start going back to normal the 18th. Just realized I didn't answer your first question, so there you go. (:

I'm like you: it's just something nice to kind of keep in mind. I actually forgot that it was that time of the year until my friend mentioned it a few weeks ago, when I mentioned everybody seemed to be getting sick and what not. I can't remember if it's the same for every planet, but I believe for Mercury it's four times a year.

I'm so glad you were able to get what I was talking about, I was kinda nervous I wasn't explaining very well. (:

Sure, or at least I'll try my best. Sorry, I had to watch my little bro for a bit!

When a planet is in retrograde, that basically means that it looks like it's traveling backwards through the zodiac (which isn't true, it just looks that way because of how Earth is orbiting in relation to everything else if that makes sense). All of the planets have different times for retrograding (which has different astrological meanings depending on the planet), but the Sun and Moon do not retrograde. Mercury is said to "rule over" communication, transportation, money, thinking, etc. Lots of important things! When Mercury retrogrades, things tend to be a little more difficult for most people. It's a good time to kinda look back and reflect on lesson's you've learned, but since it effects your thinking skills it's best not to do anything huge, like decide to move or take out a lease or anything like that.

Does that make sense or do you need anything explained a bit better? (:

I have a bit of an interest, but I don't think your whole personality is defined by when you are born or any of that. Though I'm definitely remembering that Mercury is in retrograde right now, 'til my friend's birthday on the 18th. Thank god that's soon.
