"Just a Dream"

Sitting on the desert floor,

Wind blows, wrapped embrace,

Kisses neck, smell of hair.

Just a dream. Wake up and love her.

I can't, she is much too concerned with reality.

My personality is a buffer, a pillow,

That I use to cover my head and drown out the noise of the world.

Staggered walk, hopeless eyes, sunburned back..

What a nightmare!

Sitting up in bed wiping sand from my eyes,

Breathing fast, no time for air, lay down.

Hear the noises about the castle that drive you insane,

Chains dragging, shackles clattering,

Moaning ghosts with arched backs tell us they love it.

Trenches dug deep to hell, shocked by shell,

Bullets miss but we're burning.

Burning, burning, burning.

The city set ablaze,

I see the rape,

The smoke,

His body slain,

My bloody hands,

The girls eyes,

No surprise, no thank you, no, nothing.

Pierced heart, coughs up blood,

Thrown aside into the mud.

Dead? No, wake up, reset the game, and go back to bed.

1. At least 2 people in this world love you so much they would die for you.
